My name is Skamp. I am a male poodle with a yeast infection.
My mommy decided to share this as a last hope for me, to see if anyone has an answer. For the last two years I’ve been to many vets to see what was wrong with me. I have been biting at my skin because i’m constantly itchy. I’ve been through being told it was food allergies, to seasonal allergies, to a yeast infection. I know i’m probably not alone. If anyone has any ideas on how to help, or if anyone’s dogs have had the same symptoms and they have found relief please share. I just want Skamp to live without pain. He’s still a happy boy, but he needs to stop the itch and Benadryl isn’t cutting it. #malepoodle #poodle #yeastinfection #allergies #dogallergies #vets #helpmydog ❤️🐶

In the last 8 months with my hoomans I have been very sneezy, itchy and have had multiple skin infections. The first step months ago was to start seeing a dermatologist, then came the food trial. Thank the floof I had no food allergies. Today I went in for my environmental allergy test. For this they poke you just like a human allergy test. I am allergic to 29 of 52 things that I was tested for. This means for the foreseeable future I will be getting two allergy shots per week (because I had too many allergies for the vet to fit into one vial). Here is to a hopefully sneeze and itch free future for me! #AllergyProblems #allergies #dogsofinstagram #aussiesofinstagram #adoptdontshop #seattle

Suffering with #allergies?

Did you know there is a direct correlation between gut health and allergies? My favorite supplements have helped my family, and so many of my friends with allergies! Maybe they can help you too.

Rachel shares......"After finally caving in and visiting the allergy specialist, the test results showed that I was basic allergic to all of nature. I was prescribed 2 shots 3x/week, a steroid nasal spray, an asthma pill and a saline rinse. Before I saw the allergy specialist, I tried literally every single OTC I could get my hands on... We are outdoor people and my allergies kept me locked indoors, and even then I was miserable. Relief from my allergies was the last thing I ever expected [these supplements] to help me with....but WHAT AN INCREDIBLE BLESSING! I cannot say with words how thankful I am and how much better I feel!" My friend Claire had this great report about her allergies - those pesky little things! " I have dealt with seasonal allergies since moving back to Houston after my first year at Texas Tech. I've been on nasal steroids and antihistamines off and on for 14 years. And for the last 3 years had been taking Zyrtec every day to deal with sinus pressure and a drippy allergy nose. (And whenever I would stop, I suffered!) But not anymore!! As my gut has started healing these last 4 months, so have my allergies. I no longer take any daily allergy medication! I wasn't even expecting this. What a wonderful side effect!!"

Oh and that your kids can’t get sick from playing in the cold. The coughing & sneezing I’ve dealt with all week says different. #asthma #allergies #eczema #respiratory #cold

I started allergy immunotherapy today in hopes that one day I won’t be allergic to dogs (and other things). #allergies #allergyshots #immunotherapy

Since my bathroom is in pieces, I have 5 boxes full of stuff that I need to sort through. It filled up my medicine cabinet and was bursting out of the space under my sink. Things I have had for so long that they have a layer of dust on them. So, I decided to use my Think Dirty app to see what was in the products hiding in my bathroom...and it wasn’t pretty 😳 And this was only one box! Fortunately, I have found non-toxic replacements for all of them and I’m happy a few do have good ratings 💕 30 seconds after you put something on your skin, it is detectable in your blood stream. What are you putting in your body? #SaveYourself

New images on the site this month: Wildfire smoke in Washington state. Great for discussions of ecology, the environment, climate change, weather, air quality and breathing issues like asthma.

It's taken me 4.5 years to come to terms with the fact that I'm sick, and I continue to struggle to do so even today. It's taken me 2.5 years to form a deeper understanding of my condition(s) and to navigate the many complex, and often expensive, treatment options available to me. It's also taken me 2.5 years to truly understand how controversial, exploited, and convoluted the mainstream narrative around ''chronic and/or late stage Lyme disease'' is.
I haven't updated on my health in awhile because I wasn't sure what my intention was with this account, but I think I've found it. I knew why I wanted to spread veganism, but now I know that I also want to help make an invisible illness clearly visible. I want to do it now and when I'm a doctor one day. It's been difficult for me to show the uglier side of being chronically ill, even to family and friends... but I think it's important because there are Lyme patients everywhere, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, who are struggling to heal in a system that constantly invalidates them. I recently met a woman in the infusion room who was misdiagnosed with depression then chronic fatigue syndrome for a whopping 20 years before getting diagnosed with Lyme Disease and mold illness. She is only now regaining her health after so much suffering. Existing systems control our lives in more ways than we initially think, and education begins with the individual.
Thank you to my fellow Instagram Lymies, many of whom were brave enough to share their journeys/provide advice to others long before I did. If anyone is hurting (mentally, physically, or both), is curious about Lyme and its associated conditions, or just wants to chat, I'm here for you all. Change won't happen in a world where we all keep to ourselves. .
