Love and War.
I've always wanted to be able to draw people but have struggled with it. This peace was originally going to be a queen who lost her beloved in the war and had his face fashioned into the back of her dress as a sort of memento which was to not only represent her love for him but also the madness that had taken over her. I ended up not being able to stop myself from detailing it and decided to ditch that idea. Facial expressions are also something I'm trying to get down, I really wanted to capture how lost these two are and I don't feel I quite hit the mark but next time will be better. 👌🏻😊

HISTORY•••
•Italian Soldier/Mule•
•Time (July 1942)•
~Animals were used widely all throughout war. In WWll when we think of animals that were used for various things we usually imagine a horse and the different things they carried all over the battlefield. However, mules were a very vital animal during WWll. When automotive vehicles could not do the job of climbing mountainous areas such as Italy, the armies would then require a mule to do the job. The allies especially the United States relied heavily on mechanical vehicles whilst the axis knew their terrain was more fit for pack animals. Being a pack animal they carried weapons, medical supplies, and even hauled wounded soldiers away from battle.
Quote from Merrill Marauders 4, April 1944, "Japanese artillery fire had killed or wounded most of the units mules...The remaining animals also blocked enemy fire with their bodies, one mule having (26) holes from a Japanese machine gun," describes how the mules were not only useful for carrying equipment, but they saved lives. The one mule in the quote particularly having (26) bullet holes from a Japanese machine gun.
The picture shows an Italian soldier with a mule in July of 1942~.

I feel at war with myself. Days one side telling me to pull through, another telling me to end it all, the last one telling me to eat or sleep and forget all of it, go numb. Please end this war.

So i finally i watched it, ok, Are you satisfied now. Always judging my lists and shit.
#Dunkirk is a #2017 War/Drama based on the the true events that took place on the beaches of Dunkirk, France during World War 2 and the story of the english Civilian boats that went to help them escape. This movie gives you three different perspectives on the situation, the Planes in the Air, The Boats in the Water and the Soldiers on the Ground(the air was my favorite).
I was extremely excited to watch this as Christopher Nolan is easily one of my all time favorite directors. It did take me an awful long time to get around to it, and that only made me more excited.
I was very happy with this movie by the end, it did start off slow and i wasnt super into it, but it just kept picking up steam, faster and faster and got better and better.
The writing is very well done, the story is good and pulled from an historical event im not super familiar with. The dialogue is strong and feels very authentic to the situation, the characters are good as well, though i would have liked a bit more development outside of the soldiers on the beach.
The directing and cinematography are both amazing, with great tone and some very beautiful visuals, i honestly see both of them being nominated for #oscars , not much else to touch on there.
The acting is really good but not great, and its not so much that performances are bad, but more that there are so many characters we dont get too much out of any one person. I did think Tom Hardy was fantastic, i really liked Mark Rylance and i also thought Kenneth Branagh was very good in a smaller role.
This movie definitely lived up to my expectations and im very glad i watched it, i highly recommend checking this out if you haven't, right now as of #december 16, 2017 this is number 1 on my list for the year.
9/10
