Had a killer #internationalchestday and #shoulder workout today. Started with #flatbench wherei put up 185x8 reps for the first time in a while and 205x2. After that I went to incline dumbbell chest press, where I put up the 80lb dumbbells for the first time ever, and I put them up for 8 reps. After that I killed dumbbell shoulder press and dumbbell side lateral raises. I’m starting to see results in that I am getting bigger and stronger. At the same time, I put on some unwanted weight in fat that I’m trying to burn off by eating healthy, and incorporate more cardio into my workouts. And there ya go, finally a #straighthandstand No, I didn’t work hard for this physically to get it (not recently anyway). My shoulder mobility has always been better than I thought; in fact, my whole body mobility and health has always been better than expected. The trick was to discover and rediscover myself through soft, careful, delegate movements and observations. In light of that, how did I overcome my forever closed shoulders? By moving away from the “shoulders” . First of all, I believe that the concept of shoulder mobility is often misunderstood by individuals. He or she usually would look at improving their scapula mobility or stretch their lats or what not, but your shoulders are affected my every part of your body from your neck and pecs to pelvic and feet region and vice versa. Relearning and understanding the relationship your individual parts have with one another eventually lead to discover my forgotten ribs 1-3 near my clavicle, sternum, and neck. Just knowing I ACTUALLY have that space there to move my entire shoulder being allowed my shoulders to open up on its own, resulting in the #handstand I could never really do. I am holding off on my ab workout because my neck is hurting real bad again. As much as I want to just do the ab workout I have got to listen to my body. So difficult! So I am choosing to do some yoga 😊 I love this dvd! Well off I go!✌💜💜💜

Run streak day 1 😭
I am so bothered knowing this could have been day 45. Ugh. B and I went for a run, and thanks to #preworkout, he was literally running circles around me. His goofy personality is 👌🏽 Back to the streak! Also if you don’t already have one, go buy a #plexus! I’ve had mine for almost a year now, and it’s been one heavenly year for my spine. My back has become more flexible, and it’s relieved a lot of tension in my upper back/shoulders. I have a janky shoulder that is weak and causes a lot of general weirdness in my muscles, and apparently I hold all my stress in my shoulders/upper back? Our burly #chiropractor put a lot of his weight on it, and said my back hardly moved. Anyway, this puppy is great for stretching and relieving pain. I want them in all sizes!
Also, I’m obsessed with our cat. He’s the cutest. And the fattest.

Want to improve with overhead lifting or have pain with overhead movements (i.e. Presses, snatches)? Try this exercise to engage the rotator cuff to stabilise the shoulder in the overhead position. Maintain a constant high pressure into the ball while moving your shoulder in circles clockwise and counter-clockwise.
