This is a time to celebrate with family and loved ones. Enjoying the occasion and reflecting... not a man Vs food challenge!

Enjoying yourself does not mean you need to cram as much food into your body as humanly possible! Although it can be tempting (Jalebi is my kryptonite)

5 Steps to Enjoying Diwali While Dieting
✅ Portion control is everything! You've already planned to eat the not so healthy food on show... So be sensible with how much you eat, aim to have protein (1 palm) and Fibre (2 handfuls of vegetables) within the meal and drink plenty of water.
✅ Try and stick to a set amount of meals per day and don't snack on the food throughout the 3-6 hour period of celebrating. Picking at food is one sure way to put on a lot of weight! Those samosa and pakora will soon add up!
✅ It may be a little late for this, but reduce your calorie intake throughout the day. Not the ideal way to maintain muscle mass but one day of under eating a little and cramming in the evening will not harm you too much! I use @reflexnutrition Amino Fusion throughout the day when my calories are lower.
✅ If you've been eating nutrient dense foods and being mindful of avoiding processed meals, your stomach is going to hate you! Digestion of these 'foreign' foods is going to need support! This is when you need to make sure you are eating the greens available and drinking a lot of water! I also increase my @reflexnutrition Digestive Enzyme intake to before and after meals.
✅ Earn those extra calories. Make sure you increase your step count or even better... HIIT the gym (not a typo)... performance an intense workout prior to consuming these heavy carbohydrate based foods and your muscle will take up more of those sugars!
