Green Tea Mochi [S$14.50]
Azuki Mochi [S$14.50]

Green tea mochi ice cream is surprisingly good! It’s like quality green tea ice cream as I could literally taste both sweetness and bitterness within it. The mochi bits compliments the ice cream well with its texture and sweetness. On the other hand, Azuki Mochi is extremely dissatisfying as azuki could hardly be detected. It’s just a tub of sweet ice cream with bits of mochi.. If you’re ever going to try both, I would recommend eating Green Tea before Azuki as the latter is much sweeter.

Chilli Crab Ice Cream Sauce, Local Ah Hua Kelong Flower Crab, Egg White Skin, Fried Mantou Croutons, Ice Plant, Fried Curry Leaves.

A new version of Chef’s signature Chilli Crab dish. The fragrant Flower Crab works well with the sweet, savoury and spicy Chilli Sauce Ice Cream. Together with the Fried Mantou Croutons, it invokes memories of the traditional Chilli Crab. In addition, the Egg White Skin provides an extra cleanness in flavour which elevates the dish, while the Ice Plant and Fried Curry Leaves provide a different dimension of flavours. Another successful rendition of a hugely popular dish.

Our soup stock is lovingly prepared with natural goodness. Prawns shells and lots of them! Painstakingly peeled, fried, pounded and boiled for hours. This forms the base for our Nonya Mee as well. Simply sedap!
Strawberry Rose Cake by Dora Keiki ($38). This is one stellar creation from the "It's Cake Time" campaign, which sees Anchor Food Professionals (AFP) teaming up with nine local bakeries to create tea-inspired cakes using quality ingredients and premium New Zealand dairy such as Anchor butter, whip cream and cream cheese. I was told New Zealand’s temperate climate allows cows to graze outdoors all year round, thus producing superior milk with a fuller, creamier flavour and higher in beta-carotene and vitamins.

I've tried this Strawberry Rose Cake by Dora Keiki, and it's very good. The tea-infused sponge cake is wonderfully fragrant, and I especially love the delicate scent of rose even within the sponge. It also incorporates pureed strawberry bits with white chocolate frosting. The texture was light and very smooth, exactly how I like my Japanese cakes to be.

This campaign only runs till 31 December 2017, with cakes available for purchase at the respective bakery outposts. Other flavours for their six-inch cakes include marigold tea infused chocolate; strawberries with rose tea; lychee with osmanthus tea; and even an inspired local favourite of onde onde with pandan, coconut, and osmanthus tea, and will be priced between $28 to $40.

Laksa from Sky 22 (Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena): lemak like crazy, loaded with ingredients.
Sky 22 is all day Dining with a buffet line but there are a la carte options too - such as the laksa. And with one of the best views!

Finally tried the cakes at Saga Enmore by patissier Andy Bowdy. Presenting the Mini Cake Tony - Cocoa nib cake, raspberry mousse, baked cheesecake, salted caramel, lemon jam, candied hazelnut, milk crumb, torched meringue. Each cake is baked and assembled individually. Isn't it beautiful? The cake isn't too dry and has a nice cake to mousse proportion. It isn't too sweet. I feel a lot of heart has been put into this. And the milk crumb provides a nice crunch. The next pic is a Salted Coconut and Mango pie. The pastries and cakes are so interesting.
