After this past weekend's plot twisty, but still incredibly supported Gonbó Market, UVS is proud to announce more community-driven reclaiming of the holidays via our participation at the @dwdc_health Uptown Art Market happening Saturday Dec. 16th. 5PM-10PM. 715 179th St.
Not only will the POC and LGBTQ-led market feature art, jewelry, zines, food, and more by locals, but also vintage goods from @cheebasgoods, live record spinning by @djkaykay47 alongside our very own DJ Buddy (@uptowndolly), and craft beer by @uptownbeersociety.

Love doesn't care who you are. It's love from the deepest part of your soul. Watching my 2 friend's Nick & Bradley tie the knot this weekend in a ceremony that was as great as their love is for each other. Magical to match their engagement was at Disneyland. These 2 men are just amazing. Just PURE LOVE!

I could really use your help right now. I have finally decided to stop ignoring my soul, & to write a screenplay for this story that has been itching at my mind for 4 years now. Essentially, it’s a story about teenagers/young adults struggling, accepting, & celebrating their own identities. BUUTTT, I only have the perspective of a queer Hispanic woman, & this screenplay is all about diversity, which is where you come in. If you would like to help me out, then PLEASE email me at
w your answers to the following questions. Be as open as you’d like—no answer is too long, & your own life stories & feelings are encouraged. (Your writing will not be taken w/o credit) ✨
1.How old are you & what race(s) are you?
2.What gender do you identify as? What gender were you assigned at birth? How have your answers affected you negatively & positively in life?
3.Would you say your skin color is light, medium, or dark? How has the color of your skin affected the way people see you? How has it affected the way you see yourself?
4.What is your religious background? What religion are your parents? What religion are you, if you have one? Have you ever felt belittled, bullied, or unsafe because of your answers to these questions?
5.What is your sexual preference? Do you choose to label your sexuality? How has your sexual identity affected your life, in negative & positive aspects?
6.Have you ever experienced prejudice (sexism, homophobia, racism, etc.) because of what you look like or how you identify?
7.How were you treated by teachers in elementary/middle/high school? How were you treated by peers in each stage of school?
8.Did you perform well in school? What did you like best & least? Did you have any hobbies, play sports, run for student council, etc.?
9.Do you find it difficult to have conversations about race/religion with people who are a different race/religion than you? If so, why do you think that is? If not, why do you think that is, & what advice would you give to someone who DOES find it difficult?
Thank you so much for your help!!!!!
