Being a guardian, an owner, a parent, or however you want to see yourself when it comes to your dog, is a beautiful thing. The love and bond that can be built between a human and a dog is amazing. But, to become a good owner is not an easy task. A dog requires a lot of attention, love, and proper training to grow, learn, and be obedient. Unfortunately, things get a little bit more complicated for owners of pit bulls. This breed is known for its strength and its intelligence, but without the proper training, they can be very disobedient.
A big dog such as a pit bull without proper training, love, and respect, they can be dangerous. I assume that you want your pet to be safe around other people and other dogs. This is why it is very important to implement good training while it is still growing and learning.
Most people believe that the best way to teach this beautiful breed is with a dog cage/crate or kennel. With a crate or a kennel, you can easily teach your pet about boundaries, respect, and personal space. The crate is the place where they can feel safe and comfortable.

Factors I considered

Before I start listing any kind of product, I think I should first talk about the standards and factors I considered before choosing.
Material
Since we are talking about a much stronger breed, I thought that the most important factor would be the material that the cage is built from. Something strong, durable, and long-lasting is required. So, plastic is not an option even from the start. There is no strong enough plastic that will hold back any larger dog.
So, the obvious option was heavy-duty steel for the more expensive products and thick aluminum for the cheaper ones. Even though aluminum is much weaker than steel, I think it is more than enough to be used as a cage.
Spacious
A crate is a place where your pet will need to feel safe at all times. Of course, you will first have to train them to get used to being locked in a crate, but once they get used to it, they will feel at home and very comfortable.
However, a dog will never feel comfortable if the crate is not big enough. This is why I decided to look for more spacious cages to ensure that a pet will be able to turn around 360°. I also make sure that the products are well ventilated to ensure that the pet will get enough air.
Otherwise, anything smaller and with less ventilation could lead to increased stress and anxiety.
1. ProSelect Empire L

The first one on the list is Empire by ProSelect because it fulfills every factor I considered. Of course, I am talking about the large-size cage, not the medium one. Make sure you do not mix both of these up. The larger one can fit a canine that is up to 70 pounds. Naturally, this is more than enough for a pit bull because they usually weigh around 55 to 65 pounds.
It is 41 inches in height, 42 inches in width and 30 inches in length. I believe this is more than enough for any kind of larger breed. I also like this product from ProSelect because the bottom tray can easily be removed. This will make the cleaning process a lot easier.
2. Casual Home Wooden

If you are one of those people that is looking for something a bit more aesthetically pleasing for your home, this is a product that you need. It is completely wooden and it comes in five different colors including black, espresso, walnut, white, and a few more. It also comes in five different sizes, but I recommend the largest one for a pit bull.
However, I only recommend this solid wood crate to those that have already trained their pets to be obedient and to respect the cage. Otherwise, they might start chewing off the wooden bars and finally escaping.
I decided to put this on the list because it is quite and dogstruggles.com claim that it is a great option for any kind of dog that is well-trained.
3. Luckup Heavy Duty

Now, this is a product that will probably last you for the next 10 years. It is made out of heavy-duty steel that will surely stay intact in the foreseeable future. It is resistant to corrosion, to rust and your dog will never be able to do any kind of damage to any of the bars.
You have five different options for the LuckUp. There is the 38-inch, 42-inch, 46-inch, 48.5-inch, and the upgraded 42-inch option. I think whichever of these sizes you pick will be a good option for your pitbull.
Since it is made out of steel, it can be cleaned both inside and out pretty easily and there is also a removable plastic tray that can be easily washed too.
The only thing you have to keep in mind is the fact that it weighs around 57 pounds.
4. Frisco Fold & Carry

The previous one I mentioned was pretty heavy because of the heavy-duty steel. Of course, not every dog needs to be close with such heavy steel. A regular wire crate can be more than enough. This is why I decided to mention this product on the list. Once you assemble it, you can easily fold it and unfold it whenever you go traveling. It is very convenient not having to carry an entire cage in the back of your car.
Of course, if you decide to buy this crate by Frisco, make sure it is the 42 inch one.
Pit bulls can be problematic, but with the right cage, you can teach them to do almost anything. I am sure that whichever of these great you decide to buy, your pitbull will be happy.
