Today I felt proud of myself for the first time in a long time. Not because I did anything particularly extraordinary, but because I did the things I didn’t want to do. A few months ago I would have just thought, “Oh, well - hopefully I find the motivation tomorrow!” But I didn’t listen to that little voice in my head today & that, I’d say, is progress. 🙏🏼

I did the splits in today's class!!!!! Only on the left side ofcourse! I cannot believe it! I've been struggling with it so much!

I'll try to take a picture of it later! Hope it happens again🤞🏼

Yoga mudrasana teamed up with butterfly stretch on a chilly morning 🙌

The stretch which enables your lower body to open up, stretches the muscles. Not that this is the bet version of the asana, but am trying :) #yogasana

As yogis, it's not really about giving thanks, expressing gratitude, or any of that stuff that tends to subtlety place us back in the center of things.

No, our practice is more about simply acknowledging the true center of everything, coming back again and again to an acknowledgment that God (Tao, etc) animates every single thing that is, and that God's love forms the foundational fabric of everything we are.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving my beautiful friends. And if you're feeling thankful, grateful, or blessed, those are perhaps good things, but they all pale in comparison to your simple acknowledgment of what it means for you to have been created ❤

#Birdofparadise is not the easiest #pose but I remember when I was first able to get into it. I had a sense of #achievement. I am very clear in #yogaclass that the #poses don't matter so much as how you feel as you flow into them. What your #breath is doing, how aware you are. It's what you learn along the way into getting into a #posture that counts. I know there were many hours of lunges, balances to be strong enough to hold this pose for a few breaths confidently. That doesn't mean I don't fall out of it sometimes. Every practice is different, you are the sum accumulation of all your experiences and you are different each time you step onto your mat. So make the choice to meet Yourself exactly where you are each and every time🙏😊
Then the rest is easy💛
Because people ( family and friends) are scattered: geographically, physically, mentally and otherwise. So much gratitude for my yoga communities. So much to be grateful for...

*Anatomy geek out ahead!
Correct posture minimizes stress on muscles, bones and joints while incorrect posture places abnormal stress on these structures.
This is the plumb line seen from a lateral view on me. Years of using a phone, driving, emotionally hangin my head and trying to GET ahead, my body has accrued a slightly more kyphotic upper spine and forward head.
The line should be in line with my earlobe and crown of head. After seeing this photo I became more diligent about correctly tucking my chin back and lengthening the back of my neck in poses like Tadasana (mountain pose). Years of habit won’t change overnight but the awareness it’s created within my practice has helped me carry myself differently off my mat.

🦂 Cette semaine au Vinyasa non seulement on travaille la posture du Scorpion mais aussi la manière d’y entrer :
Première phase depuis le dauphin
Seconde phase depuis la posture sur la tête.
Et la nouveauté que je n’avais pas proposé jusque là c’est d’oser chuter par dessus bord et perfectionner sa chute dans la grâce.
Le point le plus important: dépasser sa peur de chuter.
Outils : mantra de Ganesha Gayatri, voir le post précédent ;-)
