I have a favorite tree 🌲 in @yellowstonenps. I've hiked and skied to it, and I stop and view it on most trips to #yellowstonenationalpark. The tree stands strong despite being alone atop the hill.
In early November I brought some @rockymountaincollege students from my #photography class to the park, we were fortunate to have #crepuscularays aka #JesusRays line up with the tree.

"Hayden Valley Sunset," Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

As the setting sun casts a warm glow over the land, sun rays shine through the clouds over Hayden Valley and the Hayden River in Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is full of hidden landscape beauty if you know where to look. It takes a creative eye to shoot landscapes in Yellowstone, and for that reason it's always been one of my favorite places to shoot. The colors began to change as the golden hour set in, and it left a great glow on the grass as the colors reflected off the waters meandering through the valley. I've always found Yellowstone a relaxing place. It's easy to find solace here off the beaten path. I've spent a lot of time in Yellowstone, and no matter how many times I come here, I always find something different and it never get old. It was America's first National Park, and it's still one of the best. On a side note: always make sure to carry your bear spray here as Grizzlies are abound in the park. I've seen them (and photographed them) on more than one occasion, though thankfully always from a safe distance.

Shot details: @canonusa 5DMKIII, Canon 24-70 f2.8 L II, Canon remote release, @gitzoinspires Carbon Fiber Tripod, @manfrottoimaginemore 3 way pan and tilt head, @hoyafilterusa 82mm HD2 Circular Polarizer, Kirk L bracket, acra mount, adapter, and Long Rail. 53mm, f/11, 1/250 second, 100ISO

THANKFUL for my new @yakimaracks Skybox 16 Carbonite!
It is always a good time to be appreciative of what we have, but this week is popular for reminding us all (of course relationships and people matter more than stuff, but this Skybox is darn awesome to store STUFF in!). I loved running into Ken and Derrick, recently from Detroit, headed up in November for big wall adventure.
Loved it and THANKFUL I was not going up with them (kinda cold for me). Anyone else out there doing "non-normal" activities for Thanksgiving week? #nonnormalthanksgiving
