Smile. They say.
Smile a little more, resting bitch face
they say.
be happy. be "falafel" happy.
Don't be like that
your life is not interesting enough to complain.
Smile...yes, a little more.
Resting bitch face they say.
But they don't know
not every day i need a smile
not every day i will entertain their egos
i am happiness myself.
and that's "falafel" enough. •

adivinen que es "falafel" en este #escrito. •

This is such an important message! In what ways have your lovers tried to control or support your sexual liberation?

So on my previous post I asked a question to which 4 out of my 50 (a few of you only follow me to stalk me so we will just round it to 50) followers replied with the affirmative. The reason why I did the post was to put the question of change into perspective. Before I get into it I want to make it clear that in no way am I shaming anyone. It's just a general analogy I'm making. We see around us so much sexism and oppression. And I'm sure it angers you as much as it angers me. We wonder, every single one of us why it's still happening today. Why change hasn't already taken place. But if only 4 out of 50 people are willing to be at the forefront then progress will always be slow. Simply because when you build a wall you need the bricks to line up. You can't place some bricks in front of the others and hope the foundations will stay firm. I have no doubt that all of my followers would physically intervene when they see assault or some form of "physical" wrong. But how many of us intervene with the people that are close to us? How many of us intervene when we are online and how many of us stay quite for fear of backlash? I saw an account a while back who told her followers to hold every man in their personal lives accountable only to recently admit most of the men around her are sexist and misogynist. We cannot expect change if we do not come at them like the tide on a stormy night. We cannot expect change if we do not raise ALL our voices instead of taking a ride on someone else's. We cannot expect change if we do not shout from the tallest mountains. For a long long time I stayed quite. I believed in equality without actively fighting for it. Then one day I held every man and woman that contributed to any sort of oppression accountable. Become the change you want to see. Start in your own homes first and the tide will change itself.
