An Aussie Riesling to beat the 42 degrees Aussie summer heat ☀️☀️☀️ Henschke’s 2015 Julius - refreshing with notes of apples, lemon and lime peels, and great acidity driving to a crisp, slightly saline finish. Enjoying this at home with the air-con on and getting ready to watch the Aussie Open on the telly! 🎾📺 #beattheheat #aussiesummer #notmeltinganymore #henschke #edenvalley #australianwines #winelover #winegeek #instawine #instavino #henschkejulius

Very powerful and expressive for a village wine, but what would you expect from this sought-after, highly regarded new star of the Meursault? Although their style is to be restrained with new oak, that didn’t show here where it felt the oak was a little unintegrated and top heavy. It’s medium bodied, full of delicious citrus flavours, a bit of minerality, and quite a lot of punch. Tasted blind I had this more in Corton. Lovely acidity and a very long finish. Delicious.

After the Issue No 39 is before the Issue No 40, to be issued by April and dedicated to mature Riesling.
We started our retrospectives of the 2008 (10 years after) and 1998 (20 years after vintages) with a bang, the superb collections by Max Ferd. Richter.

If there's a glou glou whisky out there then this is the one. I've tried the "entry" level Yamazaki and wasn't really fond of them. They were either too dry or too simple. The Distiller's Reserve knocks off all the points on the checklist - complex, smooth and yummy. Caramel on the nose is pretty dominant and presents a gateway for tones of dried cranberry, vanilla, cedar and dark chocolate on the taste. Perfectly balanced, but could use a longer aftertaste to launch it into the top lists.

Joblot Givry 1er cru 94. What happens when the odds are stacked against you? Humble land, crappy vintage... You give it your best shot! Secondary notes of mushrooms, earth, liqueur. Rather attractive. Fresh red fruits with energetic verve. Tight and tart finish.
