Good morning ☀️ Did you ever get intense pain from a spasm by doing nothing at all to trigger it?
It is important to relieve the tension and promote more flexibility in the lower back. Twists are a great way to help you with that. You REALLY need to start committing to keeping your body flexible.
.You may find that you are very tight in the lower back and that twisting is very difficult to do. The lumbar vertebrae and muscles don't twist at the same degre as the upper back so initially, any twisting accomplished in this exercise will occur in the upper body more than the lower.

The goal is: twist the lower back to mobilize and stretch the muscles. Your back will be tight and resistant at first but in time,it will relax more and you'll be able do feel the 'investment'. Tour hands should assist you in this exercise as you can see in the image.

1️⃣Sit comfortably with knees together and upright;
2️⃣With your hands assisting you holding the chair, gently rotate your upper body to the side as far and as comfortably as possible;
3️⃣Hold for 1 minute and rest;
4️⃣Repeat by twisting in the other direction;
5️⃣Repeat often.

Tips: when you are in the hold position, your upper body will respond faster than your lower back. Maintain the hold for a long period initially so that the lower back muscles will have a chance to respond. The goal is to relax into a hold and not to force a turn. When you can perform this exercise easily, do it unassisted without your hands. This allows you to recruit and strengthen the back muscles to actively control your rotational flexibility instead of passively.
