MCS 6-bolt stem looking solid. Sharing some previously shared 70's - 80's MCS history.
1976-1977: MCS Bicycles was started by NBL founder George Esser and Rick Connery out of a motorcycle shop in Pompano Beach, Florida. Products: MCS "Z-1" frame. Riders: Greg Esser, Brian Esser & Timmy Judge.
1978-1979: In the late 70's, as the "sport" of BMX was growing in the southeast, MCS was selling frames as fast as they could make them! To keep up with the demand, MCS was welding frames around the clock with both day and night shirts. Products: MCS Magnum frame, MCS Spider frame, MCS 6-Bolt stem. Riders: Jamie Burrows, David Argyle.
1980-1981: George Esser, concentrating on running the NBL sold MCS to Ron Cann and Norman Livin. Ron started Hot Inc. numer plates around this same time. Products: Full line of MCS Magnum frames, bars, stems, and seat posts. Riders: Jeff Ruminer.
1982 MCS 240 Magnum bike test in BMX Plus! may 1982.
1983-1984: Ron Cann sold his half of the company to Norman Livin. As freestyle became popular, MCS made it's first freestyle frame, the "Styler". As MCS continued to support BMX racing, the "Magnum Force" co-sponsor team was formed. The team grew rapidly to 500 members, representing MCS throughout the country. Products: MCS Magnum 2000 frame, MCS Styler frame. Riders: Matt Harris, Bill Madden, Billy Swoop, Marlow Buelvas.
1985-1987: Bill Prince was hired to manage the MCS race team. In 1987, MCS hired Pro BMX racer Jeff DeVido as a sales rep and to manage the "Magnum Force" program. Products: MCS Mantis Mini frame, MCS Hurricane Jr. frame. Riders: Mike Brandt, Craig Reynolds, Mike Crehan, Jonathan Lee. #bmx #bmxlife #mcsbmx #mcs #4130 #chromoly #madeintheusa #usa #bmxhistory #bmxmuseum #vintagebmx #bmxracing #bmxstreet #bmxbike #bmxlegend #bmxrace #bmxfreestyle #bmxrider #oldschool #oldschoolbmx #tange

Cruising around #Dallas this afternoon makes me realize how much time I didn’t spend in the heart of the city. Growing up in small town Jacksonville a couple hours away from downtown Big D it seemed so intimidating. These were big city folk who understood the world. Riding around on a bike almost identical to my childhood #vintagebmx brings back memories especially in the home state. What would that kid think of me now? Pretty proud I think, especially the wipeout recovery after slipping within the first block on a slippery piece of steel groundwork! Ouch. My bunny hops are pretty lame now too....After living in Los Angeles and Atlanta now, the city represents the heart of a people, state, and sometimes even a country. History, Religion, Art, Power, and Celebration are on display right next to Crime and Poverty. I do love the mix all of the world can offer. Get out there and explore!

This is my favorite BMX Action in my collection of old school magazines. May 1987 but not any regular issue of BMX Action but a tear sheet / proof of the magazine before it went to print. Was super lucky to goto BMX Action in 1987 while in California for the Bakersfield ABA race where @richbartlett23 snapped his fork off in the jumping contest , but that a whole different story. Back to the magazine Gork gave us the issue after giving us a tour of Wizard Publications. Was an Epic experience for me. Some cool stuff on this issue the Master on the cover @mhadan table of contents @mrbillbmx @davecullinan506 & Glenn Pavlovsky , @gtbmxrace Lumberjack ad , Charlie Townsend on Cyclecraft , Dizz Hicks CW ad , Ohio Christmas Classic coverage , Carbon Fiber the future of mini race bikes , all wrapped up with Outakes from @davecullinan506 desert trails. Anybody else have a proof copy of BMX Action? #bmxaction #bmxactionmagazine #oldschoolbmx #80sbmx #vintagebmx #planetbmx
