This is one happy face. I’m so proud of my Mom! This is her crossing her finish line after running an ultra-marathon which was 57 kms. She ran right into my Dads arms and wrapped him in a big hug. She had so many people come out to support her by running legs of her route with her, she only ran 3kms by herself. She is a total inspiration in my life and so many others. Someday I hope to be half the person she is!

6 afternoon miles 💚
I'm falling fast for these 'no music' easy runs. I'm still working on not bringing a watch once a week too, which I'm also loving! Had my watch today though but didn't pay attention to pace, just feel.
K guys, I've been clearing my head and coming up with my 2018 race plans!! But until marathon training season picks up, WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO?! I'm feeling a little lost and unsure how to do this whole "don't burn out, but keep a solid base" thing...
Do you maintain certain miles but drop intensity, or keep intensity and miles... or what?! I wanna feel refreshed and ready to start working hard come February, but don't wanna lose too much or burn out before then...
I'd love your advice!!
I love that the Minneapolis airport has treadmill work stations to charge your devices! Getting in a few extra miles. Need to plan to have my running gear with me on longer layovers (sorry to my future seat neighbor for my inevitable smelliness!

In a parallel universe this is a buckle instead of a medal, but for now, we are stuck in this dimension, so allow me to elucidate on Saturday's outcome. I was able to "officially" cover the first 50 miles in 11 hours and 19 minutes, which was a PR by over an hour, but it simply wasn't good enough. Pace always determines probability and with only 12 hours and 41 minutes remaining, I did what any other number loving realist would do, I turned to math. The formula yielded a sobering reality: a 15:13 min/mile average would be required over the second 50 miles in order to go 100 miles in 24 hours — a task too lofty for an unremarkable athlete like myself. You've heard marathoners speak about hitting "the wall" — it's true, it exists — but once a human goes beyond 26.2 miles on foot, there is no wall but rather walls: clusters of walls, waves of walls, worlds of walls. Quitting isn't fun, but the right decision is sometimes the hardest decision to make. The Vertical KM. What is it about this race that induces competitors to take off their shirts? Lungs on fire, legs burning, heart in your throat kind of racing. If obstacle racing had a big brother the Vertical KM would be it. 5kms with 1000m of elevation gain, from the valley there is nowhere to go but up! This is a race not just for trail runners but a race that mountaineers and obstacle racers will excel in as well.

ラン記録。ナイキプラス始めて約1年と11か月。本日の朝ランで走行距離トータル6000kmに到達。1年に3000kmを目標にしていますので 取り敢えず目標達成です💯
