It always seems impossible until it's done. ~Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela 🇿🇦
During our quick layover in Johannesburg, we visited Nelson Mandela Square. We arrived around 9am, and it was already crowded. Apparently, this statue erected in his honor is new. ✊ I couldn't help thinking, if SA wasn't known for the savagery of apartheid, what would it's legacy be? My guess: The Zulu Culture...but I have so much more to learn about South Africa. Next time I will allot more time to explore. It's a layover... because we are on the go ✈✈✈

N E L S O N 🇿🇦 M A N D E L A S Q.
Our 18 hours in South Africa
allowed enough time to:
- Visit Nelson Mandela Square (shop with the locals)
- Experience the busy highways of Johannesburg
- Stay overnight in Sandton at a cute, safe hotel. A special thank you to our host for driving us around and away from Maboneng (as we heard gunshots minutes away from our booked Airbnb...Yep... Gunshots 🔫🔫🔫).
P.S. Yes... @nandos_foodsa happened. It tastes good, but the customer service...blah. We're used to the wonderful @nandosusa customer experience. ✨✨✨

"You will be more powerful than you ever imagined if you take the time to work on yourself, find your purpose and walk in it. You have the power to define what success looks like for you." For me, success equates to service and courageously walking in my purpose . I have developed and delivered personal and professional development classes at schools, transitional homes, rehabilitation centers and job readiness programs.
For me, success is watching those that I've had the opportunity to serve --- WIN. Lessons For Our Daughters is a transparent account of what led me to my purpose and the valuable lessons that I have learned along the way.
127/365 - BODY

As mentioned at the beginning of December, I'm feeling more grounded in my body. So I thought what better time than now to dedicate a few posts to my experience with the body. If you've ever met me in person you know how skinny I am. And I'd say that 25% of the people who do meet me will point it out.
I constantly hear the following lines: "You need to eat more!" "You're too skinny!" "You lost weight!" "You need to go to the gym!" So I hated my body from as earlier as I can remember. I think what people don't understand is that the tone they use is negative when they bring up my skinniness. Unfortunately, society has made it socially unacceptable to call someone fat but it's okay to call someone skinny with a face of disgust. Unknowingly, it can create a lot of self hate for a child or adult who hears that message even just once.
My body type has also often crossed over into the subject of my manhood. Be it through the media, marketers or even my own family there has always been a clear message that there is an ideal body for a man. The daintier you are the less manly you appear, as if I got to choose the body I was born into. Mixed with my personality and interests, it was game over from day one. In this paradigm, health and genetics no longer play a factor in happiness, only ones ability to get close to the body of Adonis is the true measure (hence the disorder Adonis Complex).
You'll soon see a photo from my childhood that shows how my body has remained the same over time. The body I was blessed with. The body that has supported me and given me a heart beat for 27 years and counting. The body I am now proud to have. My body.

We’ve all seen this vid by now but I just had to repost because it is truly one of my faves and a reflection of my 2017 attitude, 2018 attitude and an attitude I will carry for the rest of my days. Once a daily struggle due to the constant doubt, fear and rejection in my environment (both internally/externally) is now a daily practice. #oprah #maury #purpose #supersoulsunday #positivity #empowerment #selflove #crystalhealing #chakrahealing #manifest #witchesofinstagram

Courage is the price that Life extracts for granting PEACE. ~ Amelia Earhart ~ •
😉 I guess this goes back to an old saying, “Nothing in life is free.” Would I be going out on a ledge to say, “Consistency is the price that Life extracts for granting SUCCESS.”

Set of 3 images from a spur-of-the-moment walk/jog I took my kamali’i on. It was almost sunset 🌅 and the colors were breathtaking.

December’s gift 🎁 is on the link. It’s a 12Day eClass. The link has the info & how to get started. ✨

MAINTAINING YOU also known as MAINTAINING MANA is on the blog. 🧜🏽‍♀️ MANA is the Polynesian word that defines ones essence & strength. Maintaining your MANA is an important part of life. [You have to be a Mermaid to read it.]

Last pic, I’m sharing what I’ve been using for the past 15+ years. Safe for my children from infancy 🤰🏽to teens. I didn’t realize how good it was until I dove into the science. I actually created a page that pulls apart it’s ingredients. The URL is on the pic. 🧜🏽‍♂️
