It’s definitely okay to and absolutely necessary to shut down, kick back, and relax. This weekend I challenge you to find a quiet, private “me” time. Allow yourself to slowwwwwww down and relax. Find nature, meditate, or do nothing at all. Your brain and body needs a little break from the rush and stress from the week.

POSITIVE THINKING ✨✨✨

This stuff changed my fucking life. I'm not kidding. I might even do a whole little series of IG captions on it because I have a lot to say. HOWEVER, ppl have this cheesy notion of "positive thinking" as being all unicorns 🦄 and rainbows 🌈 and self affirmations. IT'S NOT. And if you are just starting out on a journey of trying to change your thought patterns, it's going to be HARD.

So let's start with OVERCOMING SELF DOUBT: If you want to get better at something you think you suck at: you have to do it. Do things that scare you. I know I've said it before, but getting out of your comfort zone and doing things that you know are going to ultimately make you a better person are KEY to realizing that you CAN do whatever you set your mind to.

This doesn't mean you need to go jump off a cliff; you shouldn't do that. You can take small steps, it doesn't have to be a leap. But challenge yourself a little bit whenever you feel scared to leave your comfort zone. Just like in fitness, overtime small steps = big results.

Let me know if you like these types of posts or if you're like "nahhhh". I feel so cheeseballs writing about positive thinking 🧀, but it's honestly SO important for health and happiness ❤️

Issa weekend💃🏼 These past four months have flown by and I'm pretty damn heart broken about leaving but it's not forever🙅🏼 I think anyone who has grown up in the beautiful country doesn't realise how lucky they are to have places like this on their doorstep. Everyday I feel like I'm walking onto the set of a movie🌾

Don’t be fooled by the highlight reel that is instagram. Left - last night after 2,200kcal. Right - this morning.
Digestion varies between men and women, also depending on the timing of your last meal and what you consumed.
This also affects what your weight is in the morning. If you have a meal with more sodium, or don’t consume as much water, these all make a huge impact on how you look and feel and weigh on a day to day basis. Have you ever weighed yourself everyday for a week? You will find that it will go up some days and down others.
I have been struggling with feeling full when I go to bed, because I feel like I am so puffy. But by bringing myself back down to reality, understanding the way the body works, I now know that in the morning I won’t look the same. Don’t think that the shredded photos you see is someone day in and day out, is a moment in time and if you set your mind to it, you can achieve it too.
Didn’t end up working out today 😭 or much this week. But the bf and I teams in flag football dominated! And that’s enough 🏆 for me this week. PC @earlobana 📷

I did my first attempt at the #barbell #benchpress today ❤️. I usually use the #smithmachine for this particular compound lift because a) it gives me stability which helps overcome the weakness of my right sided hemiplegia
b) I don’t use a spotter..dropping 30 kgs on to my chest isn’t the cleverest idea.! I’ve been thinking to switch to the barbell benchpress for sometime but have always been a bit intimidated 😳. However, the @villagegym is currently going through a refurb and the smithmachine disappeared 😮. I’ve been doing #dumbell bench presses in the interim but decided to just try the barbell today..😬
I started with the bar (20kg) to test the waters, progressed to 22.5kg and then finally 2 sets of 3-4 Reps with 27.5kg. I usually do 30-35kg on Smithmachine but it is always easier to lift as the benchpress is partially assisted.
On the whole form mostly ok but can see some blips on my weaker side when I’ve not positioned my self correctly/ had a lapse in concentration. Deffo going to have to focus on unilateral exercises to improve this but on the whole could have been worse.! One thing thing I’ve also decided is it is finally time to find a #trainingpartner or have some one #spot as a minimum. The latter reps felt tough and I feel a bit anxious attempting more without a spotter.
I usually avoid asking someone to spot as I don’t want to interrupt/burden their #workout.. what is everyone’s opinion on this?
Also anyone fancy #training with me? 😂 you’re not allowed to laugh at me though.! I felt a bit tired so only did some easyish #deadlifts #squats #hipthrusts and #lats exercises. However, when I got home I had an urge to do a longer #run and surprisingly managed 8.2 miles in 1:16:23..not bad considering had only lifted weights a short while before.
Experienced the #runnershigh (doesn’t always happen), one of the best feelings to experience and I always have the sensation of stress being extracted ❤️. I imagine it’s akin to a fix 😳. #instarunners #marathontraining #womenwholift #strengthtraining #StrengthFeed

Had to hurry today. Everything felt and moved like shit. I really need to work on increasing my speed “out of the hole”. 😴😫 This is the first leg day where i haven’t beat my previous reps. 🤐 This is the 6th week I’ve been doing this so i guess it was about time for a bad lift.

Tyler says videos are better horizontal. 👍🏻

I am still growing out my armpit hair. Haven’t shaved my legs in awhile either. 🤠

Why are magazines full of perfect-looking bodies and articles perpetuating the idea that if you lose weight, you're gonna have it all - a perfect body, a perfect relationship, a perfect career, and a perfect family. Why? Just why? This makes me so angry, so incredibly angry. Please do know that you don't need to be small in order to be happy or successful. Your size has nothing but absolutely nothing to do with anything. Ever since I started eating more, I've been so much happier. Eating more food has allowed me to become stronger at the gym. Being stronger at the gym has allowed me to make more gains. Making more gains has allowed me to feel sexier and more confident. And feeling sexier has improved my relationship. So... do you still want to be small? I hope not!

🍑 80kg hip thrusts for 8 reps
🍑 50kg deadlifts for 5x8 reps .

Such a good feeling to know I’ve improved so much since the start of my journey. My form on deadlifts used to be absolutely shocking with a bent back and bending over rather than hinging at the hips 🙈 I cringe thinking about it. But to now be able to lift 50kg and feel strong, makes me so happy and I’m very proud of myself! 60kg next week? 💪🏼

It’s only come through working hard week in, week out. It’s all about C O N S I S T E N C Y 🙌🏼 you’re not going to walk in the gym and suddenly be able to lift 100kg, that’s just unrealistic (unless you’re super man then maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️).

But you can’t just keep doing the same weight each week, you need to keep increasing it bit by bit! So add that extra 2.5kg on and see how you find it. If those last few reps are a struggle then just try and power through them (without hurting yourself ofc). And next week it might just be slightly easier... .

And in no time you’ll be lifting those weight you thought you never would! 💕💕

@tasteoflondon Tobacco Docks: I got £12 tickets with champagne for this event. Foodie me and not-much-foodie boyfriend went there and we managed to entertain ourselves for *3 hours* - & that’s without going to the bars and restaurants there! Lots of brands with samples there and I bought my favourite ones - & also found my new favourite peanut butter...a kg of it! Besides this, there was amazing cheese, spreads, popcorn, curry, crisps, not to mention so many kinds of alcohol!
If you’re a foodie in London over the weekend, definitely make a trip to Tobacco Dock!
After donating blood yesterday, the pamphlet said, “refrain from strenuous or high intensity activity for 6-8 hours”…BUT I had to get in at LEAST 1 km (one of my #Movember goals 👨🏻) SOOOO, I did so by having a nice and slow run inside! 😉 I waited about 3 hours after donating so I knew I had to take it easy but I managed 1.5 km! 🏃🏼‍♀️ GP was a little sad he didn’t get to run so we headed out for a 1.5 km WALK! 🐶 After all that, I was 100% ready for bed; I could tell I was extra tired after donating BUT as I said in my last post, it was WELL worth it! 👏🏻

Yesterday was a REMINDER that sometimes plans change and you’ll have to ADAPT to that which can be hard for some; I’m one of those people who finds change HARD! 🙅🏼 I had planned to run 6 km in the AM (chickened out because it was -4…) so then I decided to do it after work BUT then I ended up going to donate blood and could NOT run 6 km after that! 😅 I had to remind myself that although I like regular routines and a schedule, I need to be WILLING to adapt to changes that may come up throughout the day! 🤗 Over time I’ve learned that it is OKAY to find change hard BUT don’t let that feeling overwhelm you! ✌🏻If we never experienced CHANGE, we wouldn’t grow or develop new skills! Change is good so if it happens, let it, and learn from it! 🌟

Start of new training block, making some sumo gainz😏 5x72.5kg for 3 sets with new addition of the belt (sole reason is to keep waist as small as possible whilst we get prepping!!) some early hips popping up there towards the end of sets but overall not too shabby (you can disagree if you wish😂?) if only the camera work was better if I actually had a cameraman *cough cough*
