It was a long travel from #mydubai to #cancun but it just feels good to #relax by the beach.
Spent last two days between #playadelfines & #islamujeres.
Already met some great people but will not stay there long. Planning for my next steps now!

Who knew hiking on a glacier is a thing in Patagonia? As there are thousands of glaciers in Chile, some of them are easily accessible for visitors. With crampons on, I can tell you it’s quite an experience because first you need to learn how to walk with them up and down the ice waves. We had a great fun looking for ice caves in Laguna San Rafael National Park on Exploradores Glacier. Would you like to try it? Or have you hiked on a glacier? Where? Let us know 😀

The fun of traveling is when you have stories to tell. This is one among many great experiences I encountered during my trip to Ecuador.

I have never experienced anything like this in my life until now. It gave me chills to hear the roaring winds and tiny specks of ice poking my face as they hit me. There was no color anywhere to be found with very limited visibility. It made me wonder whether I was still on earth. In the midst of this experience, happiness and excitement washed over my face as I visualized myself as being one of the explorers who you admire from a distance when you hear their adventures stories or see pictures or videos about their risks to just experience the thrill.
Once we got out of the car, we experienced harsh wind, pushing us away from our path. Instead of soft snow caressing our faces, the ice pelted us. We couldn't communicate with each other as the wind noise was too much. Our faces started swelling, and we sounded like we were speaking gibberish when we tried to say something.

In addition to the guides, there were other sporadic souls wandering, trying to beat the next challenge in their exploration of the world. Due to time constraints, we planned to go up to the Refugio in an all wheel drive with a local guide as they were the only ones that were allowed to drive. We thought to walk from there on, get beautiful shots and experience Mother Nature's enormity over us, and feel the thrill of climbing to the second highest point of Ecuador.
The exciting factor about Ecuador is neither heavy rain nor active volcanoes stop the government officials from running zip lines or allowing climbing the active volcanoes. They leave it up to you to make the decision. I heard from the guide that once, when he and a tourist were relaxing overnight at the refugio to hit the summit next day, he experienced the volcano erupt. The officials somehow managed to get the guides and the other tourists back to the safe zone.
