I usually grade every day during planning. This week I tried more lesson prep during planning and saving the grading for the weekend. Never again.

Kids are gathered in a group. They are listening to others speaking to them. There are so many children that mortality rates are some of the worlds highest. There is poverty, lack of portable water, sanitation, poor nutrition, and limited access to health care services. @rhondakaybrewer #Africa #children #poor #socialstudies

Have to give a shoutout to @royal12clothing for sharing this truth. Had to dig a little deeper and continue the sharing process to Yashar’el! Our ppl didn’t understand this English language and could only express what they were experiencing from our original Hebraic language. They gave a descriptive in Hebrew to the men that were recking their lives! History from the European White perspective has gotten it all wrong in explaining what our ancestors said! Truth is continuingly coming to light! Praise #Yahuah!! Our ancestors have certainly expressed the right term of “burden” and “load” to this country and it’s reigning oppressors!!

Ne suis-je pas une femme? Femmes noires et féminisme. Author : Bell Hooks. Préface d'Amélie Gay. 2015. Editions Cambourakis. Original title : Ain't I a Woman? Black Women and Feminism. 1981. In 1851, it was the answer given by Sojourney Truth, activist, former slave, in a speech in front of an audience of american feminists and abolitionists. Someone in the crowd had asked if she was really a woman. As that time, black women in America especially if born in slavery, were considered like nothing, working in fields for "jobs" no men would do, black or white. The book shows how, due to that hard story which shaped mentalities, black feminists have had a double fight in front of them : sexism and racism. The relations with white women liberation movements, which does not have to be defined by the colour, were complicated by social and racial preconceptions. A very interesting book. Until recently, I thought that the wonderful Supremes were so elegant because she wanted to. I thought that she were singing like sweet little girls as a style she choosed. I was wrong. They say that she had been firmly advised to do their best to appear at the opposite cliche of the black woman frequenty nicknamed Jezabel and considered as damnation for mens... since slavery time. As if the word rape does not exist. Today, I tend to think that history shapes a little bit less mentalities... if people use their brain. #sojourneytruth #americanhistory #slavery #bellhooks #womenslibshistory #mythsandmentalities #blackpeopleinamerica #marginalisation #sexism #racism #socialstudies #parisbookshops #lapetiteegypte

First day of moot court was a huge success. The classes voted on which two current SCOTUS cases they wanted to do as a moot court (mock trial for the Supreme Court). They were awesome!! This was our summative project for judicial branch and civil rights/liberties units. .
