Me for the past week because of my birthday 😹 I’m pretty sure my bank account is begging me to stop, but I’m visiting Jon this weekend so the birthday celebrating isn’t quite over yet! (p.s. thank you to everyone that wished me a happy birthday yesterday, I feel so loved 💓) Anyway! I hope you’re all having a great Monday!! This is my first day off from work in 7 days, so I am trying to enjoy my bed for as long as I can. I got my leg + cardio workout in already, and surprisingly I don’t feel like complete death lol (#smallwins). Later tonight I am having dinner with one of my future PT school classmates, so I’m super excited for that! Until then, I think I’m gonna binge-watch a few episodes of Grey’s 👩🏼‍⚕️ (I am at the beginning of season 7!)

If you’re anything like me (and if you are following my pages you probably are, at least a little) not reaching your goals really hits hard.  For me, a little success leads to a lot of self sabotage and then the end of the month shows up and you still haven’t hit those goals, that’s when the downward spiral sets in and you start to give up, at least that’s my history.

What we have to hold on to and remember is that it’s all in our mindset.  If you tell yourself from the moment you wake up that today is going to suck and you’re in a bad mood, of course that is what your day will look like!  It’s all about learning to adjust your thinking.  When you go to, this day sucks, shift your mindset and instead repeat to yourself how excited you are about the day.

Instead of focusing on the big goal that you didn’t achieve, look at all the small wins along the way.  Did you start waking up a half hour earlier?  Did you incorporate personal development daily?  Did you workout more often than you did last week?  Don’t be afraid to celebrate the small wins.  Also, look at the challenges you faced as a learning activity.  So you cheated and had a cupcake on that day you were in a horrible mood.  Use it to realize you were tempted by sugar and stress and then learn from it.  Next time you are stressed try going for fresh fruit to get that sweet tooth kicked.

Just remember, as long as you are doing the best you can do, that is a success!  Don’t get discouraged, keep pushing thru!
