One of the photos that will make it to my future office. A year ago my #dad and I told my story from his perspective and from mine. The message to take away was how saying “YES” can change lives forever!!! To think minutes before my biological mom took her last breath she asked two people she adored to take care of her daughter. The love my parentals gave me and continue to give is why I work hard in helping to give girls in developing countries, something “they” gave to me: THE FREEDOM TO LIVE LIFE COURAGEOUSLY & ON MY TERMS. In addition, giving a girl the opportunity and chance to be a child and gain an education allows her become CHANGE!!! Lord, you’ve blessed my life beyond anything measurable. #daddydaughterduo #fundeducation #ThePowerofLove #Pennies4Girls #WeWillRise #130milliongirls #girlscan #girlrising #girlpower #activist #girlrisingembadsador #GlobalCitizen #Nepal #SierreLeone #Ethiopia #Egypt #Afghanistan #Cambodia #India #Haiti #Jamaica #Peru #Jamaican #CHIMEFORGLOBALGIRLS #GlobalCitizen

#Farmers in #SierreLeone are increasingly turning towards cannabis as a commercial crop, due to the higher prices commanded compared to the traditional #agricultural commodities of cassava and rice. Indeed, despite having some of the most fertile land in #Africa official agricultural output is among the lowest on the continent. This has caused concern to the #SierraLeonean authorities, as fewer resources are being put into traditional agriculture and the country’s food #production capacity is thought to be under threat.
Much of the plants cultivated in Sierra Leone is exported to neighbouring countries, particularly #Liberia and #Guinea. Prior to the recent rapid growth of the cannabis trade in Sierra Leone, plantations were usually limited to the north and west of the country; now, cannabis cultivation is now so widespread that almost every village, especially those in border regions, has at least one significant cannabis plantation.

It is likely that cannabis was introduced to Sierra Leone at some point within the last few centuries, as traders from #Asia and #EastAfrica assisted its spread. The respected #British botanist #WilliamJacksonHooker noted in his #JournalofBotany (1851) that cannabis seeds were brought to Sierra Leone by #Congolese captives aboard Portuguese slave ships; however, the exact date of arrival is uncertain. It seems that whenever it did arrive, its use was quickly incorporated into local custom. Water-pipes for smoking cannabis became commonplace, as did social gatherings devoted to their use. Now, cannabis is colloquially known as #diamba or #jamba which are closely related to the Angolan term #liamba and the #Malawi #chamba and probably ultimately derive from the #Sanskrit #ganjah.

❗️❗️❗️Happy Thursday beautiful world😘😘😘 Believe in who you are and your capabilities. If you don’t, then who will!!! Remember you can’t expect people to support or understand what they haven’t lived. However, your fierceness and and perseverance to kick your fears to the curb, might inspire more people than you know.

I’ll admit it. I’m in need of some new headshots. #noted 😬 👉🏾Now to what I want to talk about. One of the things I‘ve learned is that in the line of work I‘ve committed my life to, I have to take the initiative in researching myself. In doing so, I see what’s out there and make sure everything is updated as well as reflect who I am and what I stand for. After scrolling through a few pages, I clicked a link and what I saw and read made my heart smile. It’s such an humbling experience to see what following your heart brings to others. I don’t know whose presentation this is or whose write up it is on Hugh Evans’ tedtalk but I want to say thank you for taking the time out to share what can transpire from one’s life experience(s) in doing their part to make a difference. My life is my passion and through it my purpose surfaced. There’s so much to: owing your truth and not being afraid to speak it. I remember when Pennies4Girls was consisted of the pennies I found in my purse. Then it was 600,000 pennies, then 700,000 pennies and now 1,500,000 pennies and still counting💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽One of the most profound moments of my life was finding my gift in this world and having the courage to give it away because it’s coming from a source that cannot be emptied. Pennies4Girls is once again in its planning stage at a new level🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I look forward in you all helping me to educate more girls all over the world. Forever grateful for the continuous support and encouragements. “Be brave enough to trust the next chapter of your life because you do know the author.” Well the authors........that’s yourself and The Creator😉😉😉 #fundeducation

Martin Luther King Junior words resonate with so many! They add as a fuel for various aspects of life, especially when fighting for human rights and not to mention when fighting against hate. His legacy is filled with wisdom, inspiration, passion, encouragement, reassurance etc. his fight and stance has paved a path for me. I too have a dream and because of him, I won’t let it go!!! #IHAVEADREAM #Pennies4Girls #WeWillRise #130milliongirls #girlscan #girlrising #girlpower #activist #girlrisingembadsador #GlobalCitizen #Nepal #SierreLeone #Ethiopia #Egypt #Afghanistan #Cambodia #India #Haiti #Jamaica #Peru #Jamaican #CHIMEFORGLOBALGIRLS #GlobalCitizen

Life has a crazy work of working. Every single thing you go through is necessary for the lessons you need to learn and the level in your life God wants you at. There’s no coincident in an activist taking me in when I was 3 months old. There’s so coincident that at age 11, I found out that violence and poverty existed in greater depths than I could imagine. There’s no coincident in going through the ordeal of being held up at gunpoint and witnessing the murder of a friend. There’s no coincident in gaining an education, something that offered me freedom beyond limitations. There’s no coincident in the death of my mother. There’s no coincident with my countless obstacles and my countless blessings. My life story was the one for “me” to live because it’s the blueprint behind my dream of changing the world. When I hear of girls’ stories and their challenges, I’m able to relate. Story telling allow us to connect on both an intellectual and emotional level. Such experiences remind me that no matter the color of our skin, religion, social status, geographical location, etc., we all are connected!!! Hence, it’s important to stand up for human rights everywhere because we all make up the world we live in. We all matter!!! Being vulnerable have always been a pivotal point in going to the next level. My passion and purpose is beyond me and being flexible about my methods are crucial while being strong willed. #IHAVEADREAM #Pennies4Girls #WeWillRise #130milliongirls #girlscan #girlrising #girlpower #activist #girlrisingembadsador #GlobalCitizen #Nepal #SierreLeone #Ethiopia #Egypt #Afghanistan #Cambodia #India #Haiti #Jamaica #Peru #Jamaican #CHIMEFORGLOBALGIRLS #GlobalCitizen #FundEducation

Happy 2018 beautiful world😘😘😘 We prosper in healthy environments. I wear black today to stand in solidarity with my sisters everywhere!!! I stand against gender bias, sexual assault and harassment. To all the women/men who have been victims and have been brave enough to stand up, THANK YOU! Together, we are a very powerful voice and a voice for the voiceless. #TimesUp and what we do today will be the stepping stone for the next generation of girls/women so they won’t have to experience anything short of inclusion, safety and equality in all aspect of life. One girl with courage is a revolution and all of us together....... IS A FORCE TO RECKON WITH. #WhyWeWearBlack #GoldenGlobes #GoldenGlobes2018 #Pennies4Girls #WeWillRise #130milliongirls #girlscan #girlrising #girlpower #activist #girlrisingembadsador #GlobalCitizen #Nepal #SierreLeone #Ethiopia #Egypt #Afghanistan #Cambodia #India #Haiti #Jamaica #Peru #Jamaican #CHIMEFORGLOBALGIRLS #GlobalCitizen @reesewitherspoon @evalongoria @traceeellisross @kerrywashington @brielarson @tessamaethompson @rashidajones

This made me chuckle because my heart & passion has revealed so much already🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 To all my beautiful followers, all the best for the new year and beyond. Don’t get caught up in making New Years resolution(s) if it doesn’t work for you because they tend to enter one year and go out the next. I say: do what you say you are going to do while trusting God’s timing and the process of your life. Your story is filled with its own uniqueness😉😉😌 All that is for you will “never” get pass you!!! Disregard any and everything that no longer serves you and submerge yourself in love! After all, you are not merely a conductor of light. YOU ARE LIGHT😘😘😘 Embrace becoming because 2017 is your foundation for 2018 and you are becoming more of who you are meant to be😃😀😀
