The indoor tornado water fountain of the #shoppesatmarinabaysands is named the #rainoculus, a collaboration of art and design with architect Moshe Safdie. The oculus is both a skylight and a rain collector that sends water from an acryclic bowl above ground through a whirpool and down two stories to the pool below. We ate lunch sitting around its base and what a show it was! #fountain #marinabayshoppes #singapore #design #architecture

Make a wish as you circle the Rain Oculus, designed by international artist Ned Khan. A 22-metre diameter acrylic bowl set on a 90-ton steel structure, this eco-friendly installation collects the rainwater that fills the Canal. Look up, and you might just get to see to the hourly water cascade that releases more than 22,000 liters of water per minute, from a skylight two storeys above.
