Tugg work from tonight. Topped out at 526.4 for a dub. Second rep was ugly af. Grip didn’t give out I just dropped it 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ still a good starting point, just gotta focus on some weak points. Finished off chest with a slight variation on the peck deck. Stole this one from a John Meadows training video. The purpose of the foam roller is to take the shoulders out of the movement and increase the range of motion. On a more serious note, I'm really happy with how things are moving. We've been doing a lot of work on my hips to get them to open up, and as a result I've been able to take a wider stance... Money. I feel much more powerful and steady in this position vs where I was just a couple months ago.

Let's get straight to the topic. First of all, I want to tell u guys about drop sets.
What are drop sets?
It's a simple technique where u perform a set of any exercise variation to failure or just short of failure, then drop some weight & continue for more reps with reduced poundage no rests in between. Eg - bb curls 3rd set(last set 25*8, 15*12, 10*20)

It's an old-school training protocol which was invented in 1947 by Henry Atkins.
Let's see what science says. There is a research which was investigated by 2 different drop sets protocols vs a single traditional resistance set on muscular performance & body composition. This research is done on drug-free trained male & female athletes. In the end, there were no significant differences between drop set group & traditional set group regarding muscular endurance on different exercises. Effect on the size and muscular endurance was slightly up for the traditional group.

Results - There are no greater gains with drop set protocol. Hence I would suggest sticking normal straight traditional sets for muscle growth, endurance & body composition. If u still want to try drop sets then always do it on hypertrophy days. Drop sets basically come under metabolite training, you can implement metabolite training once every week of a mesocycle. That also depends on person to person's goal.
