It's been a TOUGH week...but I've recognized that I have to invest more time into my future. I really had to take a hard look at what set out to accomplish this year and take an honest inventory on what I spend my time doing. There's been ppl before me that have accomplished more, working with less. No more excuses. I won't let me down 💪🏾

People asked me multiple time this year, you still going to compete? - Answer “does a bear shit in the woods!” @jdep01 . Yes this is a hobby here to stay. I have a career i love in EdTech Sales and I don’t do this for money , no natty does and I don’t work in fitness. TGIF! I'm back to my early morning workouts now that the snow in PDX is finally gone and I can drive myself to the gym again!❄️ I love how strong I'm feeling in the gym thanks to all the #carbs that I'm still consuming even at #9weeksout😊 I've been working hard on increasing my metabolism through reverse dieting for a couple of years now and it's really paid off. #metabolismgains .

Can't believe it's down to 4 weeks out.🤷‍♀️ Although I feel like I haven't seen much change this week, I know that every workout & drop of sweat counts in the end! 👍 Plus I have full trust in my coach @joediscuillo This is my 5th prep with @teamedge1 - not one prep has been the same and yet everytime the results are better than I expected. 💪 Trusting my coach allows me to just put in the hard work, and let him do the thinking. ❤ I'm thankful I found @teamedge1 for my journey❗

I am thrilled for this lady to take stage at the @sampsonproductions in just 2 weeks. Yvette has been putting in work and it shows! This lady is eating a #flexiblediet plan with lots of carbs and having 1-2 re-feeds a week. Minimal cardio and lots of weight training. How is she so lean with a high intake and low cardio? She worked with me for months before she started “prep” to prepare her body, mind and metabolism for the stage. This is key!! If you take the time BEFORE you need to cut to be in a #healthy place, your prep will be a lot better! 👉🏽I wont day easy because #preplife is always hard! But it doesn’t need to be miserable! _________________________________

✨MAKE SURE YOU GOT SOME MUSCLE FIRST✨
There’s probably nothing worse than dieting down without building muscle. We get so caught up in weigh loss that we forget to create a shape under the fat we are so desperate to lose.
Resistance training is your best friend. ****The only way to look “shredded” is by reducing body fat % to the point that muscle definition is visible. If you do not have any muscle under the fat, you will just look skinny - not ripped.****
Choose a sustainable diet (so that you are in a caloric deficit) that can be easily scaled up or down once you have completed the shred phase. If you are on a liquid diet, you will gain ALL of the weight back once you begin eating again.
As long as you focus on building muscle and remain in a slight caloric deficit, losing fat will take care of itself.
