"My vegan journey all started almost 8 years ago. I was overweight and sick and always short of breath. I never wanted to do anything before work or after. I was always tired and my energy level was very low. It wasn’t until one day when my kids asked me to play outside with them that I realized that this was not the way I wanted my life to go. I didn’t want to be overweight and unhealthy. I didn’t want to always be telling my kids no when they asked to play outside. I didn’t want my life to be cut short because of unhealthy choices and the thought of not being involved in my children’s lives for as long as possible killed me.

The new(ish) hidden ingredient that has become the bain of my existence. #palmoil is creeping up in our store shelves fast and furiously. Here's why you must avoid any products that contain palm oil. ☠😈
1) Up to 300 football fields of rain forest are destroyed HOURLY for palm oil plantation.
2)Orangutans are losing their lives and homes in this process.
3) Palm oil is ranked one of the top worst industries for child labor.
4) Extremely high in saturated fat.
5) The burning of these forests to make room for cultivation has made Indonesia the 3rd largest emitter of greenhouse gases.
6) Numerous animals face extinction due to conversion of forest.
There are so many more, but if this isn't enough of a reason to stop consuming palm oil, I don't know what to say.

If you still eat foods with labels the read them. For you, for these innocent children and #animals being exploited and oh, the rain forest that also happens to be the lungs of our planet. 🌍

I get many messages each day about my food and recipes so I’ve decided to do a daily post about my food. If you have any questions about any of my meals or would like a recipe comment below.
So this is relating to Monday 19th February and I had 5 litres of alkaline ionized water and 4 cups of green tea. My food then was as follows :
7.55am 2 homemade scones with jam

10.33am 2 Granny Smith apples

12.30pm smoothie - can see ingredients in image
3.15pm pasta with homemade tomato based sauce and sautéed red peppers
6pm sesame seed bar

7.43pm homemade mixed bean chilli with rice and guacamole

Okay. If you want your oats to taste like an ice cream sundae (🙋🏼‍♀️), I recommend the following toppings: a dollop of your favorite yogurt (I used @siggisdairy), pecans, cacao nibs, nut butter (I made a little puddle of hot cashew butter), and warm cherries, all drizzled with a little real maple. Mega yum. 🥄

This fiber, protein, and healthy fat packed breakfast will keep your tummy full and satisfied, your brain happy and productive, and your mood and blood sugar stable for hours. Sound like a good start to the day? I’d say so! #purposefulplate #eatwithpurpose

Sunday was spent bulk cooking for the week ahead. We try and take in lunches from home most days, it saves ££ and you know exactly what’s in your home cooking - no hidden nasties, refined sugar etc. It’s all organic, homemade and delicious. 🙌🏼🌱🤤
This week we have a few days of chickpea chana masala, Bombay potatoes and turmeric roasted cauliflower. The Bombay potatoes were especially tasty, DOUBLE TAP if you want to see a recipe post on these babies 👌🏼🌱💚🤩

Why has it taken me 23 years to find out that processed meats are Class A carcinogen?? How disgusting that this world encourages cancerous sugar and meats to us, especially children! Why not chuck in some dairy too to brittle their growing bones!! 'makes our bones grow strongerer' said the little girl promoting petit fulu yogurts. It's all a lie! Please please please take the time like I now am to find out what we are eating and how it's all linked to our terminal forever growing illnesses. Processed meats cause just as much cancer as cigarettes. Animal based calcium actually withdraws calcium from our bones. Had this for breakfast today and I don't know if that's weird but I don't care cause it was so good 🤷‍♀️kale massaged with avocado (aka BEST thing ever), roasted Brussels, roasted sweet potatoes, chickpeas, and quinoa 😍

I’m doing it. I’ve thought about it for such a long time, but have until now chosen to see the difficulties instead of the solutions. In a meat loving family of 5, going vegan will take more than a little determination and motivation. This month I’m switching all my breakfasts to healthy #vegan options. At the same time I will experiment to come up with at least 5 dinner options that the rest of the family can tolerate (or even like), as well as learning more about nutrition. My goal is to be fully #plantpowered well before the summer. 🌱 #runhappy #runnergirl
