This is the site of a native Kumeyaay winter village last inhabited around 2,000 years ago. It sits in a ridge between to small high elevation valleys. The rock shelters had morteros which were used to grind food, medicine, pigments for pictagraphs and spiritual ceremonies.

7 Musket pictagraph on cliff wall over hang near Yellowstone River Montana
Red marks at bottom could represent enemies killed or musket balls fired in an engagement of the enemy, I don't know.?. Ok News Flash this just in ~I've been told by a knowledgeable source that a party of Blackfeet wacked 7 trappers on Alkalai creek nearby and captured their guns and this represents that incident 150 years ago.. Nice. I'll go for that..
