Here's to the village on the hill. Here's to the families we've met. Here's to the wonderful food. And our favorite house pets.
Thanks for all the good times!

My ten year old house sister for a fortnight who deserves everything in the world 🌎 she was adopted at 5 from a nearby town when her already neglectful dad died and mother remarried, leaving town. She now lives in a village called Ale Gaun with an extended community. She is thoughtful, caring, helpful, independent and always smiling. Thanks for helping me realise how many special little girls there are out in global villages Anu xxx photos @tilionfilms

Today was our last of two weeks volunteering and homestay-ing in Ale Gaun, south west of Pokhara. Time to go and eat something that's not Dahl baht and get ourselves all prepped for the Annapurna Circuit! It's been a once in a lifetime experience staying here, giving a helping hand and getting to know our families 🙌

Hiking through villages to the top of a mountain and paragliding over the Annapurna mountain range.. all in a days work 🙌🌏 We went with the incredible Babu in Sirkot who has paraglided from the summit of Everest amongst other ridiculously legendary feats

Wake at 630 to the sound of the roosters in the valley - drink a morning coffee - help with breakfast, roti cooked over methane gas collected from the cow poo - sesame and chilli chutney made on a mortar and pestle - play with fat cheeked baby and mature kids that need to be reminded to play - move bags of rocks (to make a path) in a human chain until lunch - pat baby goats - eat Dahl baht in the shade with your hands - siesta - move rocks again with the help of village and kids - head down to the town for a stretch - eat dinner with the fam - read - sleep - repeat. We are in our homestay for two weeks and the days are flying. I'm savouring the principles of slow movement and simple living where family and community are key. #pacificdiscovery

We haven't even seen a glimpse of the snow capped giants since arriving here- but we are coming for them, and they are going to blow our little human minds! So excited to be here with an awesome group of young people. These mountains changed my life at the very age they are going to change theirs 🙌 #gapyearprograms #pacificdiscovery

We are off to a homestay south west of Pokhara. It's only 60 Ks away but it takes three hours driving and an hour hiking to get there. We will spend a fortnight helping build paths and staying with villagers. Excited to meet my new family- I might even put some photos up on the wall, I cannot remember the last time I stayed in one place for a fortnight!

Three days of digging deep (in the hip flexors as well as the brain matter) for a yoga and meditation retreat with a legendary teacher and equally open and wonderful group of participants! Let the yogic mind carry on with us through this journey 🤞🙌

The mountains are slowly coming into view. Day after day we await the arrival of the Himalayas. Today was our first day at Nedyo Monastery, where we will continue our yoga and meditation!
