Though I've been working professionally for almost 6 years, I've really been a photographer for most of my life. Negatives:
One of the many ways you can increase intensity is by focusing on the negative part of the rep.
The only time it’s okay to focus on the negative😜
We generally focus on the concentric (the initial contraction) part of the movement but by focusing on the eccentric, or negative, we can challenge our muscles in a different way. To perform an exercise while focusing on the negative, choose a weight that is challenging and do the concentric as you usually would, but then resist the weight from going down. I usually will try and count to 10 seconds. It’s hard!! I usually can only do a set of 5 like this because the time under tension is so long. .
