Heyyyyy I’ve been MIA! Catching up on posts! This was sat day 54/100. The pork chop bacon and cheese thing for dinner was awful and so chewy I had 2 bites of it. Instead I made creamed spinach and fried up LC tortillas to make chips 👍🏼

Getting some prep done for the week. I baked kodiak cake muffins for breakfast, chopped veggies for a veggie soup I'm making later this week, split up some granola and trail mix into easy to grab snack bags, and started some bone broth in the crockpot. I haven't done bone broth in a while because I've been slowly saving my chicken bones as we eat and I finally had enough bones to make my broth again! Last weekend hubs and I went to Wachusett Mountain for a craft beer and food truck festival 😍 While the food and beer was amazing, I️t was even better being able to go back to where we got married and be able to reflect on how lucky we are to have been able to have our wedding at such a beautiful place ❤️

Here’s a visual representation of why you should never sacrifice form for weight. I’ve made more progress focusing on form on lower weights then I ever did from lifting heavier then my body can’t control.

Video 1 process:
1️⃣ remember to sit up straight and not let the weight pull you forward
2️⃣ remember it’s not about how far you can pull back it’s about driving your elbows down
3️⃣ remember slow on the negatives .

Video 2 process:
1️⃣ remember to keep your elbows tucked close to you at all times
2️⃣ remember you’re not bringing your elbows all the way down
3️⃣ slow on the negative (your way back up) and don’t let the weight bring you up. .

Eventually things like this do come naturally when you’ve been doing it long enough. However, I’ve been doing it THE RIGHT WAY for over a year now (not long I know I’m not saying it is) and I’m still learning more I can add to perfect my form every day. I’m lucky to have a personal trainer/ ex competitor for a boyfriend so I can constantly better myself. However, the point is that when you are doing these exercise at a weight your body can’t control you are sacrificing the little movements that go into a form and truly make your best results. It’s nearly impossible to remember to sit straight, keep elbows tucked in, and go slow when you’re using 50 pounds when you truly are at 30. Practice mind and muscle connection, practice feeling the muscles you are working stretching and contracting, and practice all the little movements that go into a lift. Once you can do those then increase your weight. .

For example, now that I can go low with a barbell front squat I have to practice my tempo as I go to fast and come up on my heels. I will master all of that before I go back to a rack. I can’t say enough FORM > WEIGHT ALWAYS. Feel free to DM for any form questions or anything in general 💕❤️
