Mulch! 1 ton of mulch can hold up to 5 tons of water. This little video shows you the inside of a mulch pile which hasn't had water on it for around 4 days.

Added a new mulch row to the right and extended the row that is going left to right. I like that the leaves from the large deciduous trees have blown and settled in the left mulch row which added cover and fertility without us doing anything. #deeprootacres #mulch #winter #cedarfallsiowa

A great time to install mulch is in the winter after all the leaves have fallen.
Installing mulch at this time gives the home owner greater value on the cost of mulch because, it will look better for a greater number of months. One mistake many people make is installing mulch just before fall or during fall when debris finds itself in the fresh mulch and cleanup inevitably removes some of that fresh mulch as well.

I saw this old troop on my run the other day. I believe they are wavy caps, Psilocybe cyanescens, or something close. The third photo shows gills and a blue-bruised stipe.

I laid about a foot of mulch on the garden this spring...and I feel I'm watching some of the results of the work.

It's been in the 30s here for over a week now and we Still have new raspberry blooms and the borage is thriving too!
The air is cold, though the Earth has a snug blanket in these parts, that is providing a stable home for my plant friends.

Great still seeing new life in the garden so late in the season. Thankful for a beautiful fall and the preparation to let these things go, too. Their time will come, and I'll be ready.
Happy Sunday!!! Xo

The consistency I have found in these TOBC1 is really amazing. The females that I have selected seem virtually identical thus far. The mama TO genes are for sure shining through on this one. It makes me wonder how necessary it will be to continue the back crossing on this 🤔. I have to say again get yourself some of the seeds if you haven’t already vigor, health, and the finished product I’ve seen people turning out, makes it a no-brainer that you should have some of these in your stable. Contact @mountainorganics @grapegrows @incanlama soon to make sure you don’t miss out on these amazing genetics. I think it is important to know, when this first round of seeds is gone, it is gone. We are a small group, and with the focus switching to F2 F3 etc, if you don’t get what you want now it might be a couple YEARS before you see it again! #notill #organic #mulch #mulchfarmer #botanicaltinctures #worms #covercrop #plantseeds #MOFO #MOBT #MOFOseeds

This was a project where we really felt for our client who paid good money only to have their plants die because their previous landscaper planted everything in just mulch (as in, not in the ground). We had to rip almost everything out and start over. We planted some Knockouts, Junipers, Holly, Iris, Daylily, Spiraea, fixed some Magnolia's, fertilized everything, and even saved the ivy so it could be replanted elsewhere since it was about to devour the Dogwood.
