Many people focus their attention too much on purely protein when trying to achieve a production in new muscle tissue or recovery. If that was the case you could realistically focus on taking mass amounts of protein shakes daily to achieve your target but the fact is their is more to gaining high quality muscle than simply overdosing in protein. Yes, protein is the main nutrient in determining muscle growth but you can go overboard. You roughly need 1g of protein per 1lb of body weight working up to 1.5g. If you think you need to go any higher than this due to a lack of results you are probably just overlooking the bigger picture which is your carbohydrate intake. Carbs and the energy they produce go hand in hand with protein to make the absorption and delivery of protein into muscle tissue far more efficient. People aiming for muscle growth often mistakenly eat too much protein and too little carbs meaning the % of protein wasted is higher due to the lack of push from the carbs to access the muscle for recovery and development. Muscle wastage is another reason why carbs need to be present if you don’t have water carbs and salt present your muscle won’t be able to contract powerfully enough to move heavier weight and progressively overload your training as regularly as you would hope. If the weights your lifting start dropping drastically you should instantly look at your carb intake as it’s the main nutrient fuelling intense exercise.

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY☺️ Ages 21 on the left V age 25 on the right.
First off I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the picture on the left I just absolutely was not happy with my body composition. Unfortunately I am a ‘greyhound breed’ and have always found it extremely hard to put on weight growing up. I used to eat a crazzyyyy amount of calories all bad😂😂) and thought that this would help❌ I HATED being called skinny and always asked did I eat🙄 very annoying to hear what people assume when all you did was eat😂
I studied sports in college and from about 20-22 worked as a personal trainer...I loved it! I started getting more in to weight training myself and was willing to work and give training 1000% in hope I would add size that way.
Slowly but surely started to love training and changed my diet and things have progressed from there.
YES it took time and YES it was hard but I am so happy in my own skin now and wouldn’t change my fitness experience for anything it’s great to look back to see how far you have come🙌🏻💫

Okay guys this is where I'm at in terms of my body ☃️

Overall feeling great and lifts are going well, really maximising every session I have !
Carrying a little niggly injury on my shoulder that I'm currently in the process of getting seen to.
It's not effecting my lifting so I'm happy at the moment.

As where in off season I have been trying to maximise growth as much as possible without gaining to much fat.
Happy with how my body has reacted and going to steadily finish out this month as I started.

This month I have been tracking as normal but not as strict as I usually am, as I intend on enjoying this month and all it has to offer !!🎅

At the weekend I'll throw up some measurements and see how im getting on in terms of where I was at in October and September !

Been smashing shoulders recently and I've managed to rep out 40kg shoulder press.
Really happy with my strength gains at the moment.
Setting smaller goals leading up to where I want to be. ✔️ A month ago I set out to rep this out and man it feels good! Be sure to do similar to keep motivated 🤘

Falling off and getting back into the swing of training is the most frustrating shit ever.
Going from getting reps on 100kg incline bench to squeezing a disappointing 5 reps out on 90kg this morning 🙄 never the less im going to keep plugging away until I am back on form.
I’m more frustrated with the fact I’ve been super complacent because I still look a certain way but knowing I’m so far from what I’m capable of is a real kick up the arse.
