When "they" say you can do and be anything you want to, that "anything" does not exclude staying home and working with your children. So, even though I felt the empowerment of that phrase as I grew up, the subtle "do more, be more" had me stuck between the passion of my heart and "what else?" //
Every parent, I assert, has their own version of inadequacy at some point or another. And, whatever your motherhood looks like, whether you stay at home or work outside the home, the point is this: the blessing in this life has less to do with being accepted by the world, and everything to do with honoring the King and His design for our life. For me, right now, that's staying home with our kids. For you, it's potentially something similar or maybe the complete opposite, and THAT'S OKAY. Just receive the blessing, resist the schemes of the enemy, believe what is true and accept your gifts as something to also be given away!

The enemy will use ANYTHING that was meant for good and try to shut it down. He will scratch and claw and terrorize a blessing until it becomes a curse, and he will steal hope in the process. Tomorrow on the blog ( I will be writing about my daughter. A couple of years ago, my heart was crushed by a conversation my daughter and I visited and revisited at that time that the enemy tried to steal from. What was meant to honor, left me feeling inadequate. What was meant to free, left me bound. If you find yourself in this place, you can almost be certain it's not from the King. Please check in at the blue link in my bio to read more tomorrow (or go today and read other blessings for you heart)!
John Piper spoke on the blessedness of God through Jesus Christ.
He used Lamentations 3:22-25,32,33
The backdrop: one of Israel's most horrific times. Captivity to cannibalism. A world of pain. A terrible time. A sick and desperate era...
✝️But God pens these words through the prophet Jeremiah to help us understand that though we (and then, Israel) be entrenched in grief, God is still good. He is merciful!
. . .
The essence of the book of Lamentations is "life is hard; and God is good." The same could be said of the theme of the Bible!
Times can be very hard. Death, decay, famine... Everything coming to it's mortal end.
Throughout the entire Bible we see it; we see it today too: a series of situations we'd sometimes rather pass up and maybe even forget. ✝️But God is compassionate and does not willingly bring grief, for it grieves Him to see His children suffer. And though we see struggles for a time, He "causes compassion" to follow. He is merciful!
. . .
We are strangers to God, alienated from Him because of sin. This makes us His enemies...
✝️BUT GOD sent Jesus into the world to carry the sin debt for us to the cross. A personal and pricey transaction took place when Jesus suffered God's true wrath and died for the world.
Piper said, if we but knew the cost of God's mercy on our lives, it would taste so much sweeter to us. We would receive His gift of salvation eagerly. We would recount God's blessings and favor daily, every moment by moment. He is merciful!
. . .
How do we have joy in a life wherein there is such pain? Recount God's tenderness and mercies on you; Jesus died that our joy may be full! He is merciful!
Much love,

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Maybe it’s your health journey after a sloppy Saturday & Sunday.
Maybe it’s your tone towards your spouse after a pointless argument over where the dining room table should go 🙄🙋🏽 (did those 3 inches to the right reeeeeally matter?! No. Not one bit).
Maybe it’s your anxiety, perspective or position in a relationship. A situation. A project. A change. A season. .
You can start over. Start fresh. Mornings are made for it. ❤️👊🏽
Here’s to the sun rising and falling every day - just like our disappointments and our hopes. Let’s start fresh , start hopeful. ☀️

When I awoke to hear the rain trickling outside my window, I wanted to pull the covers up and stay asleep. The bears are preparing for hybernation, maybe I could join them?
Yet I pulled myself out of bed, made a cup of coffee and drew up the curtains to hopefully catch a sunrise. The sky was of course cloudy and gray. I thought, “Maybe the sun won’t rise today. I should just go back to bed.” Do you ever feel like this before the day has even begun?
Thankfully I remembered the verse from Lamentations 3:22-23 that promises God’s “mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness!” It does not matter how I feel or if the clouds are covering the sun. The sun will rise on a new day whether or not I see it.
God is above all things. His perspective is higher. He is more faithful than the sun. He sees even when we can’t see. His mercies are always new. He is renewing you and me everyday in Christ Jesus. So arise! And let the Son shine on you.
I love to read your comments! How has God met you in a surprising way today?

Forget the naysayers!
As a mom, I'm told, "You are so blessed!" And as I count the individual heads of my children, seeing each of their persons, I agree: "yes, I am!" As a wife, I'm told, "You are so blessed!" And as I count the number of years I've been married, sizing up the areas of peace as well as turbulence, I agree, "yes, I am!" And were it not for the absolute, immeasurable, UNREASONABLE grace of God, these blessings (among many others) could have never come to be. 💓✝️🎁
As Deeds, I remember often the times of bondage and addictions to sin, the catastrophic choices made, and the lifelong hurts from way back. And as I count my blessings from God above...I lose count. How many times He saved me from myself! How many things His blood forgave me of when doubt and fear arose! How many holes He pulled me out of; how many fails He pulled me up from; how many embraces He lavished on me!
Too many. Abundant mercy, lavished grace, immeasurable blessing... Big words for my tiny heart to fully comprehend.
But here I am - God is good. Fully good. Immeasurably good. Unreasonably good. 📖"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen." --------Ephesians 3:20‭-‬21📖
Praise Jesus!
Much love,

Motherhood had grown and stretched me so much in my walk with Jesus. I feel 100 years wiser yet at the same time 500 years dumber. #merciesareneweverymorning #thankyoujesus #myweaknesshisstrength #firsttimemom #overthinkseverything #inzanelove

On our way to Church this morning and Sis Snaps This Selfie ... Big Smiles, our Festive Colours and the Joy of God in our hearts as we do our weekly Sunday morning drive to Church. What I wish we had captured was the beauty of the drive. It seems Sunday’s are filled with a beauty and a feeling that I cannot quite capture or put into words. Some mornings are hectic and we are rushed ....none the less, the feelings is there, it’s always there.
It seems our Sunday Morning rides to church have become a time to just sit and reflect...before we gather to worship. A time to sit and admire all of God’s beautiful creation as we stare across the endless rolling prairies. This morning was calm and crisp....the White Snow has blanketed the ground and it seems to have come to stay. The trees are covered with frost...and the sun has reflected off of the trees making our drive seem like we are journeying through Winter Wonder Land! The beauty of the Morning .....
“Your Mercies are New Every Morning... Great is Your Faithfulness To us”
This was what inspired our joyful faces and big smiles ....The Snow and Colder weather brings with it its challenges but also its JOYs. For every season their is a purpose.. Find the Joy and Purpose of Your Winter... your “physical” Winter and your “spiritual” Winter. For God is Faithful in EVERY season.
