I would NEVER wish upon anyone to go through what I have through my life. I regularly have people tell me that I'm such a happy person and always have a smile on my face.... however what these people don't realise is that every day is a struggle and if I don't smile I'd be a broken mess unable to function. Having to live each day fearing of what may be ahead and that I might run into 'them' is truly terrifying. Day 19 of #amindfulmonth invites you to be in the moment and feed your soul. You can interpret this however you wish, it could be meditative activity or it could be an act of kindness. If you are religious it may be prayer or it could be literally food related.
A mindful month is an inclusive activity, and we respect that people derive peace and pleasure from myriad things (please be kind to yourself and others). It is all about experiencing the now and keeping your mind focussed on present sights, sounds, smells and activities. The aim is to help you find some peace from any retrospective or racing thoughts.

Yesterday I met the team at Emmanuel House, spent a hour in there showing me around all the services they offer. I never knew the complexity and the amount of work that goes in down there by volunteers to help the homeless and in-need. They are amazing and kind hearted people, so was chuffed to hand over the money they really liked what we did got to meet all the staff and made some new connevtions. ⭐️⭐️LONG AND IMPORTANT POST ⭐️⭐️ It's me. 100% real for you.

Reality of this 👉 me in the process of picking out a wedgie... HAHA 😅 -

No. But in all honesty. When I first looked at this picture, my initial thought was "Jeez, what has happened to my body. It's so fluffy." 😕
But then I stopped. And I smiled a bit to myself. Because THIS IS ME. 100% real. No BS. All my scars. All my imperfections. It's genuinely me. And I LOVE it 😌 .

Having literally done nothing for a week, yea... my body was going to change. Especially because I am normally such an active person, and I refused to turn back to bad habits and under-eat to compensate for the lack of physical activity 👊
But I am so dang proud of myself, because it hasn't given me anxiety over the extra "fluff", and I haven't been angry and disappointed in myself. I haven't weighed myself since before my surgery. In fact, I've decided to stop measuring my health in kilos on the scales because it isn't a measure of how I FEEL. Sure, it was a way to get a grip on my previous issues. But from now on, I am going by how I am feeling rather than how I look 😇 .

Instead of looking and judging our "healthiness" based on our body shape and what lines we can see or not, we should be thinking about what our body does for us. I know for me, I am eternally grateful for my body. It has gotten through an eating disorder, multiple injuries, health issues, and it has made it out and recovered BLOODY AMAZINGLY (idk if that's a word lol) from countless surgeries 🙂 my body has made it through so much and it continues to amaze me every day 😌 .

So next time you look at yourself and think "ew" (or whatever it may be), I want you to instead consider what it has done for you. What it has gotten through even when you almost didn't make it mentally. How it has surprised you. How it has rewarded you. PRAISE IT FOR WHAT IT HAS MADE IT THROUGH 🙌 and treat it with respect and care. You only have one and it has to make it through right to the end.
Love yourself. Love your body. Appreciate your journey. ♥️♥️♥️ .
