Meals out at #wagamama .... I do like this restaurant chain but they say they're Japanese 🤔 they don't taste very Japanese to me 😩... I've eaten food in Japan now so I know authentic 😜 it looks very Japanese though. the food is good so can't complain ... quick bites out. staff are always nice at the 02 concession, very tentative and give lots of extras for free. #food #foodie #restaurant #instgramfood #instagramjapan #london #londonrestaurant #instafoodie #blog #cook #chef

At the beginning of each year, I write a bunch of food trend predictions. This year, I put it up on my story back in January for everyone to see. Whether they come true or not, we're yet to find out (don't worry, I saved them, so I'll dish them out for everyone to see...pun intended). But here's the thing. Everyone is panicking. It's all over the news that a whole bunch of restaurants, whether it be independent or chains, are closing down. And it's not because the restaurants aren't good. There are so many factors involved (e.g. rising cost of ingredients, stagnant wages, cost of living etc). But the main problem is this: there are too many restaurants. Could there be such a thing? Yes. Consumers are spoilt for choice, there is a lack of loyalty and up-selling consumer's drinks (the most profitable part of the menu GoT) isn't going to cut it. Too many restaurants offer the same options and people are cutting back prices by producing mediocre food. Sounds harsh, on both sides, but the truth is never pretty. But you guys know me, I'm solution based, so how do we fix this? Of course, I'm not naïve to think this is the only fix out there, I'm simplifying the situation. But as consumers and traders, there are steps we can take to help the market. What are they? More in comments. --

En St.John las ensaladas son necesarias para desengrasar:
• Colinabo, gambita enana marrón y perifollo. Muy rica.
• Potted pork , un paté/rillette de cerdo. Para untar en pan.
• Welsh rarebit. Nos lo recomendaron mucho pero no es más que una tostada de pan sobre la que funden queso mezclado con cerveza, salsas saladas y mostaza. Sin interés.

Casa de comidas industrial/rústica, muy parca, sin detalles ni florituras y con una carta contudente, un poco basta, y diferente a lo que se suele encontrar en Londres. Elaboraciones gustosas pero que no sorprenden, bastante grasientas en su mayoría y con importancia hacia la casquería y mucho pan. Precios agradables para ser la city, gran atención a cargo de Germán y un orden de salida de platos sin sentido. Al lado un grupo de 14 comiendo un cerdito asado entero que tenía buenísima pinta. Buena selección de vinos y cervezas. Pagamos 90£, servicio incluido, entre 2 personas.
