For the longest time I have been struggling with, what everyone likes to call, work life balance. There was never enough time in the day to be balanced and I would just get frustrated and feel like a failure. .
My problem was that I was trying to balance my activities and I fell into the trap of living for the weekend. I would sacrifice my whole week for my job and spend my weekend trying to make up for it.
Recently I changed my mindset on building a balanced life. I am working towards balancing my priorities and not my activities. .
The difference now is that I am spending time and energy in places that count and building a life that my family and I want. .

Looking back 12 years ago, I find it weird that I can't remember being that big!

I LOVE food.... Still do, the thing is though I'm done with letting food control my life.
Granted, sometimes I slip... sometimes I make mistakes and some times I fail... But one thing I've learned is to NEVER give in to it anymore.
To stop hiding in the kitchen pretending to get a drink when in fact i was bingeing on biscuits and chocolate.
Buying junk from the superstore on the way home from school and over eating on huge portion sizes.

It SUCKED!! My mindset isn't 100% and to be honest I'm not sure it ever will be, but it's a damn site better now than it was 10 years ago!

Emotional eating was my past identity.
Talking about it, accepting it and helping others BEAT it is my present identity.

Do your emotions get in the way of your success?

You’ve heard of the term Overtraining right?
Well it’s real, and it has a DRASTIC effect on your body.... NEGATIVELY!!😱 When you train every day for weeks on end without rest you are actually REVERSING your results.
OVERTRAINING causes STRESS to your body.
But your brain can’t tell WHAT kind of stress it is even though it’s not something that is putting you in immediate danger!

It just recognises you are in trouble, so it reverts to fight or flight mode and releases the hormone cortisol to help with the issue.

CORTISOL... what is that?

Cortisol is a hormone that is directly linked to stress, from our ancestors when we were faced with a life/death situation you know, like being EATEN by a sabertooth!! Our brain would revert to Fight or Flight and release cortisol which turns AMINO ACIDS (which repair muscle) into glucose/sugars, which is our basic fuel for energy so we can either pick up a spear and fight or run like the wind 💨
The problem is that when cortisolremains in your system for long periods of time, your body begins to think it’s going through hardship and thinks you’re going to starve and will actually STORE fat, especially round your mid section!

This doesn’t happen when training moderately 4,5 even 6 times a week because you are allowing yourself time to rest.
However if your training is pretty intense and you don’t allow yourself a break, EVEN if you’re not doing the same part of the body you can experience overtraining.

Been training solid for the past few weeks/months and your results are staying the same or you’re not improving, feeling constantly tired, Gaining weight?

BE SMART, GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK!❤️ I was a silly boy, I didn’t take a break last week and I’m starting to feel it already, I’ve slacked off today and only trained at 70% just to get me through to Saturday.
