I’ve been spending a lot of time doing super slow movements, focusing a lot on the squeeze and making sure the negative is just as controlled... all to even up my proportion, due to my right side being noticeably bigger than my left, all I’ve learnt from this “bodybuilding” is that it is slow as fuck and nothing is gonna happen quickly so.... patience 🙇🏼‍♂️ #bodybuilding #fitness #chestday #lats #patience #progress #health #follow #goals #ultim8fitness #onmyway

I include this from time to time in my pull session, works the length of the muscle much better than the standard lat pull down. I am all for lifting heavy but this should not be at the sacrifice of range of movement and working only the muscle that should be involved

Hitting a PB of 10 pull-ups today!🤩 Sooooo damn happy😭 Thought I’ll share with you guys the exercise that helped me get here. [Save it and try them out!👍🏻]
1. Negatives ( hold at the very top and try to take 5s to reach the floor)
2. Assisted pull up (with a resistance band)
3. Australian pull up ( A good one recommended by @andrewzordon 🙌🏻👍🏻)
*I added these to my back workout routine, until I can do maybe 2-3 pull ups. Then my PT put me on AMRAP- straight pull ups for 3 sets.
I started off with 0 so I hope this info can help you and let you know that you can too!!🔥🔥”The only way to get better at pull ups is by doing them” quoted from my PT 😂 and it’s very true. I work on my upper body for at least 2 times a week.
And yes I know that I still got heaps to work on, better form, wider grip,etc. But definitely a milestone for me😎

Posing at home on a rest day can be hard. We all look better directly after the gym with a good pump! ⭐️ Had to get it done... Bit of footage from Monday’s back session. Lighting wasn’t great but I’m happy with the progress I’ve made on it since last years comp. Even though my main focus was to improve on my legs the same intensity must of been applied to every other muscle group I was working on subconsciously because I was hungry to succeed. The Seated Cable Row! .
Incorporate this exercise to build a thick back. To perform this movement Always get a full stretch going forward on the eccentric as you lower the weight with control. On the concentric pull the weight in towards your lower abdomen by fully squeezing and contracting your back. Think of pinching your shoulder blades together. Do not lean too far back as you pull. Go Heavy as possible without sacrificing form for 12-15 reps at 4 sets minimum. .

How do you train back?

With such a large area to train, do you split it over two session, gocus on a specifc part for a block of training?

I'm lucky enough to have the time for two back sessions week, but I still feel like I don't hit it enough. One session I focus on lats, tryimg to build the up and working them from different angles. The second session I focus more on the mid portion of my back (rhomboids & traps mostly). Would love to hear and chat about what everyone else does 💪
