Ladder down 3, 2, 1. One of my favourite interval workouts. “The best thing is, after one rep you’re halfway done” - Coach @benny_saintgram - thanks coach. 🏃
I use the ‘ladder down’ on all my programs because there is so much to love, ala the aforementioned, plus the longer grinds around your threshold really give you heart for the sustained hard running of racing, plus it’s easy to remember.

You can use any factor to 3, 2, 1. I like kms or miles but whatever suits your training location, the 900m New Farm Park for example. (Oft’ claimed to be 1km.)

So with this ankle still giving me grief, I tried something different. I ran for 2 minutes then walked 1 minute over the course of 5 miles. The takeaway was that when I’m healthy and uninjured, I’m obviously not pushing myself hard enough. The pace was barely off and I can’t figure it out. It's week 5 of #lamarathon training and I ran my last 7-mile tempo run today. The next three weeks will consist of 8-mile tempo runs. I didn't do as well as I had hoped. For some strange reason my heart rate was really high from the get go even though I wasn't going very fast. It was higher today than when I ran intervals on Tuesday so I had to slow the whole bus down. I've been running 7-tempo miles for the past 3 weeks (54:21, 55:17, 54:48). So I did worse today than my first tempo but better than last week but that one was ran on a different course. Overall, I'm disappointed that I ran slower today than 2 weeks ago but this only motivates me to work harder. Oh yeah and just as I predicted, it's been one month since I started training and my body finally got acclimated to the increase in mileage. It's been a fatigue-ful month trying to climb my way back up but I'm definitely feeling better and ready to work on that speed. #tempothursday #hansonsmarathonmethod #runnersofinstagram #cumulativefatigue

My legs were SO heavy this morning and it was a STRUGGLE convincing myself to get out of bed this morning to run 5 miles before work. WhyyyyyYyy ugh 😣😠😰

50 minutes, 5.6 miles, 8:54 average pace.

Stretched and drank some warm coffee post-run which made me feel a liiiiittle better!

Missed a 6am call time for a Coyotes trail run, so a "quick" jaunt before work had to do. I think...this is the first run since Ray Miller. Essentially the first thing I've done for myself in about a week. It wasn't great, but it was done. Though it's smoky in the distance, the views can't be beat.
I’ve always hated running since I can remember. 🏃🏾‍♀️ Even playing field hockey in high school when we would run almost 3 miles each practice. 2. Learn to experiment w/ & take advantage of gravity. ✅
3. Do not disrupt 7:52 pacing to sass back at or shove male harassers whose kids probably were once students at your school. ✅
4. Stop running & turn off the music near the neighboring school because Zamontae & his little brother are smiling and are running towards you for a hug. ✅
6. Always run and wave 👋🏼 to Justin (who’s now taller than you) & his mom. ✅
