It's tough to be a God💥 I know every single world to every song on the El Dorado album and I am not ashamed. Elton John rocked that album. #eldorado #theroadtoeldorado #tulio #kevinkline #miguelandtulio

Assistidos da semana:
Um Peixe Chamado Wanda (A Fish Called Wanda, 1988)
O Médico e o Monstro (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, 1931)
Um Golpe à Italiana (The Italian Job, 1969)
Uma Saída de Mestre (The Italian Job, 2003)
Suspeita (Suspicion, 1941)

Filmes? Exatamente! Esta semana comentarei dois filmes aqui! #aprendizdecinefila #classichollywood #assistidosdasemana #jamieleecurtis #kevinkline #carygrant #joanfontaine #michaelcaine #markwahlberg #charlizetheron

From the #BAMHammArchives: #KevinKline, #FionaShaw, and the late John Barton in 1997 during Barton’s educational Shakespeare Workshop: How Shakespeare Writes to Help the Actor. All of us at BAM send our condolences to Barton’s family, friends, and colleagues @thersc on the loss of this beloved and trailblazing talent. Barton’s career at BAM began back in 1974, when he brought The Hollow Crown—his iconic, devised tetralogy of #Shakespeare’s most celebrated history plays—to the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House stage.

#KinoLorberChallenge 2: The January Man (1989) directed by Pat O’Connor (Circle of Friends & Sweet November). A serial killer is terrorizing New York City and it’s up to former disgraced cop Nick Starkey (Kevin Kline) to return to duty as per the Mayor’s (Rod Steiger) request. Known to be a modern day Sherlock Holmes, Nick uses his powers of deduction and with the help of his artist neighbour Ed (Alan Rickman) and the Mayor’s daughter, Bernadette (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), hopefully crack the case before it’s too late. This darkly comedic thriller was a bomb at the box office and it was ravaged by critics but what do they know? I liked it. Yes, The January Man’s tone is all over the place and some actors (mostly Steiger and Danny Aiello) chew their scenes pretty loudly but it’s evened out by Kline’s oddly wonderful Starkey. He’s a troubled and eccentric man, double crossed by his former flame Christine (Susan Sarandon) and seemingly took the fall for his brother Frank’s (Harvey Keitel) police corruption scandal. He’s brilliant and obsessive, not to clear his name but to do what’s right and tries his hardest not to have anyone else get hurt. He’s subtle and clever while the police around him are blustery and arrogant. I did smirk at some of the computer work used in the film. Seemed the software they were using was doing a bit of the heavy lifting in the logic department to move the plot forward. I don’t think police forces have computers that could do today what this old NEC computer did with a few keystrokes in the film. With that bit of unintentional comedy aside, I loved The January Man. A great cast, a decent story and some old school New York charm propels this film to a recommendation from me. The Kino Lorber release includes a making of featurette and the trailer for the film. #TheJanuaryMan #PatOConnor #KevinKline #SusanSarandon #MaryElizabethMastrantonio #HarveyKeitel #DannyAiello #RodSteiger #AlanRickman #Thriller #DarkComedy #KinoLorber #Bluray #CinefessionsPodcast #InFilmWeTrust ^M

Y’all know how much I love my digibooks...even moreso than my steelbooks...and I’m constantly scouring eBay for treasures to add to my collection. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a welcome streak of “good luck” and found several of my grails at INCREDIBLY GOOD prices...so I just couldn’t pass them up. Silverado is one of those grails, and I’m so thrilled to have it in my collection.
🤠
Released in 1985...when I was ten years old...this “modern Western” blew me away, and I adore it to this day. I watched it so much that I used to know it by heart...but, alas, I haven’t seen it in several decades now and have forgotten much of it...so I’m super excited to revisit it to night.
🤠
Written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan...yes, THAT Lawrence Kasdan(famed for his Star Wars screenplays)...and featuring an AMAZING ensemble cast, including then relatively unknown Kevin Costner in his breakout role, this is a must see for Western fans and fans of modern cinema in general. It’s the perfect blend of comedy, drama and rip roarin’ action set in the Old West. If you haven’t seen it, I encourage you to seek it out, you won’t be disappointed. And did I mention that it features the man himself...Jeff Goldum...as a freakin’ cowboy? Yeah, now you KNOW you wanna see it!😉#silverado #western #oldwest #cowboys #bluray #bluraycollector #digibook #digibookcollector #cinephile #movielover #kevincostner #kevinkline #scottglenn #dannyglover #jeffgoldblum #johncleese #action #comedy #drama #nowwatching
