Final Push session of this training block is in the books, and despite confirmation that IVE GOT NOTHING LEFT on Bench Press, overall I had a VERY productive session ✅
.
Here I took 67.5kg for a ride with 3 x 8 reps on the Plate-Loaded Incline Press, and this movement has seen an absolute shedload of progress over this block! I wanted to push for 70kg on the final set but I knew I didn’t have it in me sadly😭. Ah well, maybe next block🤷🏻‍♂️

On the subject of machines, I had a pretty interesting conversation with a client about how I incorporate machines into my programming, especially as my gym is a Machine-filled playground😏
.
First and foremost, the free-standing Compounds will always be the King of my programmes. Squat, Bench, Deadlift, OHP, Rack Pulls, Bent-Over Rows etc will always be the priority, and the main instigator for strength and muscle development. This really is because these movements will allow you to shift the most amount of load (#key4gainz), and allow for greater adaptations from a neurological and coordination perspective.

HOWEVERRRRR Machine movements are still an integral part of my programming, and here’s why👇
.
🔹Machines are great for learning movement patterns whilst taking out the instability that comes from free-standing exercises. I find this is a brilliant tool for beginners or people working around injuries
🔹They allow for a different alternative to traditional compounds, WITHOUT loading the Lower Back. This is useful for fatigue management and preventing any issues for anyone with a dodgy back (*hint hint Client @luke_sheep95 hint hint* 😉)
🔹From a bodybuilding perspective, some machines will let you isolate specific muscles and eliminate secondary / assisting muscles which is a GOD SEND
🔹Machines offer more variety for a certain movement type or muscle group in general. This gives you a broader range of exercises and variations to pick from when designing your programme, and when needing to target a muscle in a different way

In summary, Compounds are priority and Machines are a NO-BRAINER in my opinion💁🏻‍♂️

GOOD MORNING 🤗! Today's session in the gym is my lower body split ! I train legs twice a week One been more of a hamstring , calve and glutes dominant along with the second been more quads and calves dominant :) I still add quads and hamstrings in on both days but like I mentioned one is dominant in the session ✔️this is to ensure a well balanced physique 🔥 enjoy your day people 🌏💪🏽
