For fuck sake, just what we need more foreigners. I understand NS needs doctors but, you can assume most of these will be non white, aka people we don't want in NS.

My process of becoming a doula began in the womb (pictured here , 1987) My Mami, a 28 year old Guatemalan 🇬🇹 immigrant new to Los Angeles had to maneuver her way through the health care system to give birth to her 5lb baby girl. After being under general anesthesia, for an emergency c-section at 37 weeks, pre- eclampsia, she finally met her baby 3 days later. I always heard this story as she recounted and expressed her fear. Growing up I always wished I was there to soothe her and let her know she was strong! She is one of the strongest women I know to date. My purpose here is to create the space for women to give birth without fear and fully trust their bodies 💖 ..
..... to be continued ..

I interviewed with an immigrant farmworker. He would like to share his immigration story with you.
1.)What was your life before immigration? Poor life, sad,I was beaten up by my father, and I had to leave Mexico to escape my father and I wanted to help my mother. 2.)How old were you and who did you immigrate with? I came here with my cousin, and my sister when I was 15 years old. 3.)Why did you come here in America? To have a better life, we were so poor in Mexico, there was no one to help us. 4.)What country are you from? Mexico, in a state called Puebla, Tepexi de Rodriguez. 5.)Was it hard to get here? If so, why? Yes it was hard. Because we had to travel an entire week to get here in a very hot car, and we had to hide a lot in order to get here. I had to protect my sister because the coyote wanted to eat her and some men tried to rape her, but I saved her. 6.)How did people treat you when you came here? They treated me awful immediately when I came to Los Angeles, CA. I had to adapt after three months in L.A. I moved to Bishop in California there were people were nice but some of them did take advantage of me because I can't read and I can’t write, and they used me for money, but I am over that and I hope that I will continue success in Idaho. 7.)Do you regret your choice of immigrating here? If so, why? what do you like most about California and Idaho? No, because I was able to prosper here so I can help my mother. Where my home was in Mexico, I would have nothing. I found love and I married my wife 3 years ago. We have been contacting with my mother in Mexico everyday, I have most of my relatives in Mexico, all together we are seven siblings and they live in other parts of the United States and we talk on the phone occasionally. In California, I liked working in the store and I liked visiting places in California that I had never been, like for the first time I went with my wife to Disneyland in the summer before coming to Idaho in the winter. In Idaho, I like it here because the people I came to live with, they are very kind and helped us. I’ve been here for 2 months, I did a little paint with a friend. I am officially working at a dairy farm and I love it!

Hey, I woke up at 6 am, did a chem lab, went to humanities class, played badminton in the sports complex with friends, went to work and finished my shift at midnight. And ate a lot of nice food because working at a great resto is always stomach-warming. And I am so proud of myself because well, when I went to adult ed I was exhausted after a ridiculous 6-hour day of studies and now I can study, hang out and work hard on one and the same day and feel freakin great. #mtl #montreal #immigration #immigrant #emigration #mymtl #montreal #mymontreal #mtl #mtljetaime #montrealjetaime #montreality #instamontreal #instamtl #oldmontreal #oldportmontreal #hotellestjames
Since I was small I was struggling with others having comments with the racial context. When I tried to talk about these issues, everyone seemed to be amused or offended. Since I was small I have been seen like someone who is overreacting and being too sensitive, especially in Prague, that’s pretty homogenic and everyone who is black or brown has to fight with prejudices there (don’t take me wrong, I love Prague). No one really understood what I am talking about. I was raised to fit into the local culture and not take things seriously, because I had to be grateful to live in the Czech Republic and not in India, being hurt was just a small side-effect of it. Because HEY, it was just a joke and we didn’t mean it. If you really want to know what I am talking about read this book, it’s awesome and shows you the world from another perspective. So thank you @renieddolodge to write about this, I am glad that there are more of us that feel like this sometimes 🙌 #peace

Starting this month, I plan to photograph specific areas of #ElPaso that inspire my new shades.
With these posts, I narrate Leíto's experiences as a #Queer #Mexican #Immigrant living in #Texas.
