MAKE IT EASY TO EAT HEALTHIER

Don’t rely on willpower to make good decisions - controlling your food environment (i.e surrounding yourself with healthy choices) will make it so much easier to eat well.

Multiple studies have shown how something as simple as placing foods out of sight/reach significantly reduces our consumption of these foods (2/3). Additionally, there is a correlation between the types of food we keep on hand and our weight - i.e the more junk food we have around, the more likely we are to be obese (4).

Bottom line:
Fill your fridge with healthy options and don’t rely on willpower to keep you on track!

A thicker bar will shift the stress off the joints (writs, elbows, shoulders) and onto the muscles because a thick bar spreads the weight over a larger area of the hand (just imagine bench pressing with a thick bar compared to a standard skinny bar). A huge way to maximise gains in the gym is by understanding anatomy. By doing so you understand the physiological make up of muscle and it's functions. -
The TRIcep muscle is split into 3 heads. The long head, the lateral head often known as short head and the medial head. All the heads inserts in the same place attaching to the same tendon in the elbow. However all have different origins. The triceps perform extension of the elbow but also adduction and shoulder extension. The long head originates in the infraglenoid tubercule in the scapula (shoulder). This means that overhead movements such as this one perform a deep stretch by bringing your arms further back are best. The lateral head originates from above the radial sulcus and the medial head originates below it. The lateral head is primarily used when performing push down movements but the long head can be activated by shoulder flexion. The medial head is deep inside and harder to hit. Take a supinated grip and perform push down movements to activate this. -
