I have always believe that traveling is like taking a journey into yourself. Our travels play an important role in the development of our outlook towards the world. As we travel we inculcate in ourselves new experiences which helps us develop a newer outlook towards life.
When we travel, sometimes we feel like an alien to the place. At other times we feel as though the moment was created so that we could experience our existence. I believe that our life is a journey in search of this place. A place where we feel we fit in best without any fear of doubt, judgement or criticism.
But sometimes to get to this place, we have to go out of our comfort zone. We have to travel through bumpy roads, cross rivers and hike over mountains. So I believe that we should push ourselves everyday in order to reach this place.
Whether it's at work, whether it's in your relationship or whether it's related to a life goal. I believe that it's only after we have reached this place that we would be able to understand the true reason of our existence. .

I'm not trying to act like a scientist or news reporter here. This is an observation of a common man.

What I'm showing you right here is the difference between the conditions in Feb 2017 and Feb 2018.

This is river Bhagirathi in Gangotri,
Main source of the river is Gaumukh, Gangotri Glacier.

And as you may know the snowfall during the winters is the reason the rivers keep flowing throughout the year. "As long as snow accumulation equals or is greater than melt and ablation, a glacier will remain in balance or even grow. Once winter snowfall decreases, or summer melt increases, the glacier will begin to retreat." Source- ⬆️ This is exactly what has been going on with Gangotri Glacier.

This year the winters have been warmer than what they used to be and the snowfall was so low that you can see the difference in the above photographs.

Last year when I was in Gangotri the main river stream was frozen, yes it was frozen and the flow was low.
In 2018, forget about snow,
The flow of river is as high as it should be in late March-April.

This is alarming for us all.
And our government don't seem to care about this.
Soon Char Dham yatra will begin and choppers will be hovering over this entire region bringing in politicians and authorities for vote bank and tourism.

I don't know how to even go on and express my feelings.
Only if we can understand what nature is trying to tell us so we can come up with counter measures.

The end may not be near but the reality hurts me. - @the_himalayan

Only such views take your breath away, the time when you are completely thoughtless and absolutely at peace with yourself and everything..

TOOT TOOT went the tiny toy train 🚂, teetering and tottering as it travelled atop tricky traverses, through tens of testing tunnels, transporting talkative tourists and tired townsfolk, to #shimla ! #himalayanqueen #india #travel #train #mountains #himalayas #himachalpradesh #toottoot

Travel often - getting lost will help you find yourself.. this statement has a very deep-rooted meaning. How often have you felt this inordinate feeling of being lost in “terra incognita” — unknown or unexplored region.. Is that a natural phenomenon or is it induced in our lives due to our mundane lifestyle in cities?

Well!! In my case wanderlust was natural and I am blessed that in the arena of workaholics, I am able to live this desire almost every year. A lot of help and support goes into making what we all see on my Instagram profile as well as Facebook.

People ask me how I manage my finances to travel so much - little do they know about the efforts and hardships that goes into making every travel story that I share in bits on social media platforms.

And you, what sort of efforts goes into driving your wanderlust?
