One of the best parts about growing up on #LongIsland is the #eggsandwiches ▪️They’re delicious! I’ve probably eaten hundreds in my lifetime. But #hearthealth health is even more delicious, which is why I haven’t eaten bacon or eggs in years. I’ve gotten into a breakfast habit of a bowl of #berries and #wholegrains with #nuts▪️This morning (top photo) I cooked #Teff - a #grain originally cultivated in #Ethiopia thousands of years ago. I did 45 minutes of cardio yesterday (cumulatively), drank tons of water, and did some upper body light weight AMRAP. #hearthealth #preppingforLipo

“After having my VAD surgery, I spent five weeks in the hospital, most of it in the ICU where I quickly became very close with the staff. Each of the nurses made sure that not only my needs were being met, but also showed concern for my husband. When I returned to St. Luke’s for my heart transplant in November, the nurses remembered me and continued their excellent care. Many popped in just to say hello before the transplant. The entire staff was positive, upbeat and encouraged me the entire time I was in their care. I can’t forget the staff at Cardiac Rehab - where the staff is also extremely encouraging, as there were times I wanted to give up, and they helped me move forward. St. Luke’s was the right decision for me.”

I had two whole grain crackers with low fat cheese spread on. REALLY struggling to stay on the wagon right now. I’m tired , I’m due on ( sorry tmi) and my cravings are going crazy !! I got home from work to a cupboard full of crisps and biscuits and I so wanted something salty and crunchy... this is what I chose to curb the craving and stay on the healthier side of snacking. *Sprint (fast pace): 2 minutes
*Slow Pace (recovery): 1 minute
REPEAT 5-8x's
