“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within in you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” - #HarrietTubman
Another great book from @ywampublishing, free on the Hoopla App. We just finished listening today and I continue to be convinced that books can open up doors that can help us to raise loving, brave, empathetic, kind kids. Here are some reflections from the kids about Harriet Tubman: A (11) “It is unacceptable that people still hold racist views. Harriet Tubman is a hero that kids should know about and look up to. It was hard to hear about how people who just look differently than me were treated and still are, but I’m glad I know so I can learn to help.” E (8), “The men who sat on the train and let the other men hurt Harriet are cowards. Everyone who hurt someone because they have darker skin are big cowards. Even if it meant that I would get beat or drug off the train with Harriet, I would stand up for her and let them take me, too. Maybe if one person stood up for what is right history would be different.” Ezra (5), “Everybody is created in God’s image. Not just white people. And my skin isn’t even white like a crayon and my friend Malachi has skin that is not black like a crayon. We all look cool.”
WE'VE GOT 44! Let's keep sharing! The government knows the power of symbols, and that's why they've broken their vow to put #TubmanOnThe20 ... let's hold them to their word! 💵👵🏿👊🇺🇸

"Si estas cansado, sigue adelante.
Si estas asustado, sigue adelante.
Si estas enojado, sigue adelante.
Si quieres probar la libertad, sigue adelante."

The government is serious about preventing our liberation and preserving their domination over our nation. Often We think that some aspects of government repressive activity is overblown and exaggerated by movement activists. Cognitive dissonance kicks in and many wish to deny the credibility of alarmists. But documentation doesn't lie.

The Black Scholar magazine was a major platform for a wide range of liberation oriented black scholars to provide critical analysis and offer solutions to the problems confronting the black liberation movement of the late 60s and early 1970s.
That the FBI felt it necessary to track the writings of scholars is indicative of the malicious intent towards our struggle for liberation. Any and all claims that they were pursuing violent radicals ignores the preponderance of nonviolent activity, such as academic scholarship, that were subjected to the dirty tricks of COINTELPRO.

We must understand that COUNTER means to oppose. INTELLIGENCE referred to the secret nature of tracking all our movements, including the way We think. This wasnt an innocent or harmless program, but was inherently subversive to the hopes and aspirations of a people whose only desire is to seek a space and place to be human.
Keep this in mind when evaluating the NEW govt initiative in pursuit of Black Identity Extremists. It's merely an updated version of COINTELPRO.
