Today my mini donkey fell through the ice and we thought she had broken her back. I’m grateful she’s Ok and she was just really cold and wet. The vet gave her a clean bill of health. One of our baby bunnies fell out of the hutch and it’s -5. I’m grateful he wasn’t taken off by rats (because that happens here) and he was found safe and sound. I just found out that a sibling to my three adopted pigs had been adopted out to someone who ate her. And now, while I feel so sick someone could do that to a pot belly pig, I am grateful that I love and appreciate my piggies. Tomorrow is another day. I choose to be grateful. •

Personal story:
Throughout my life I was led to believe that in order to be successful I must attend college & receive a degree. Otherwise, I would just end up working a minimum wage job for the rest of my life & or be homeless. As a first born generation American, I had a lot of pressure from my parents. After graduating high school I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I entered college only to constantly find myself dropping in & out. Though, there came a time in which I considered entering the medical field as a nurse practitioner I was fed up with taking so many classes in order to get there. I honestly felt like I was wasting my life away in college being a part-time student during the day while simultaneously working night shifts hating my job. I found myself remembering a quote from my psychology class, “always go with the choice that scares you the most because that’s the one that will help you grow”. Eventually, I made the choice to quit both my job & school approximately around this same time last year. To be completely honest, it was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life because I never thought that a year later I’d end up growing cannabis as my career & then getting hired at a fully legal cannabis grow working in the extraction laboratory with my life partner...When you expect nothing & get everything, that’s destiny. 🙏🏼 Life is too short to be living someone else’s dreams. Spend it doing something you love! Pursue your passion & pursue it everyday!! 💚

Recovering slowly after cyclone Gita. Plenty of work but all the signs are here that somehow, everything will be ok. #mssunshinefarms #survivingonadream #girlswhofarm #nevergiveup #GodIsGood
