I woke up this morning in Somerset (🤫) & feeling ill (I’ve got another cold after the chest infection that never left!) and I said to The Boy « I don’t have any insta content » 🤣
Being a lovely insta fiancé (he actually despises social media but supports me bless him) he was like I have loads of stuff, and sent me this (a video I’d sent him when he randomly whatsapped me from the office where they were trying and failing to do sit ups without their feet under anything). I sent this back to prove it’s possible 😂😂
HOWEVER I’d caveat this with saying sit-ups are a less effective core exercise & put strain on your back. For core strength I’d say:
💗plank & weighted plank
💗hanging leg & knee lifts
💗lying leg raises
💖 & funnily enough, compound exercises - squats, deadlifts, sprints!

Dreamy Birthday Brunch...
This place is always at the top of my list for food as it never disappoints so of course it was my ‘go-to’ for yesterday morning.
Satay chicken, avocado, feta & a poached egg served on top of rye bread accompanied with some chilli jam. Mouth wateringly GOOD! Oh & their smoothies & juices are out of this world too!!
Cue song- ‘Just can’t get enough’ 😋

I’m really enjoying getting back into my workout routine atm, just having fun with my workouts and doing what I want to do!

That’s the most important thing, finding & doing things that you enjoy because, really, what’s the point in forcing yourself to do something that you really don’t want to do (obviously within reason, this doesn’t apply to school/uni/work 😂)

Breakfast this morning🍓It was an early one for me today as I’m set up for a full day of revision! Do you eat breakfast? I always do my best not to skip brekkie - even when short for time I try and make sure I have something in me to help keep my body clock in routine and set my self up for the day💥. I didn’t used to care for breakfast so much, but since changing my eating habits over the years, having regular meal times I’ve found is so important to help keep my hormones, blood glucose and mood well balanced🙂• Flahavans organic oats, @rudehealth coconut milk, frozen blueberries mixed in whilst cooking = blue/gray oats - (not charcoal stuff🤨) which makes such a squishy, sweet burst of flavour! A big sprinkle of milled flaxseeds, fresh strawberries and a drizzle of tahini which I’m a lil bit obsessed with at the mo🤭

Another week of triple PBs;
⭐️ 37.5kg x2 push press
⭐️ 40kg x2 power clean (easy!)
⭐️ 75kg x3 back squat (last time I got one for 72.5kg!)

All felt relatively easy so definitely plenty in the tank! Now to rest and attempt stairs...😦

Different angles and poses🤷‍♀️ but still, just over one years growth. Starting weight 54kg and now sitting around 62-63kg. Safe to say I've inhaled at least one billion calories in the past year 🙄

Can exercise make you happier?
We feel stronger, more energised, have better quality sleep, feel better about the way we look; better self-esteem, all positive!
Exercise increases the brains dopamine production (neurotransmitter necessary for feelings of happiness). The way the body deals with our raised heart rate during exercise also prepares it better to deal with outside daily stresses. As well as the immediate mood boost research has shown this to be followed by longer-term relief in people suffering with anxiety when exercise becomes a regular and constant part of life.
So the good news is, yes exercise could make you happier!

Been having to work out in my converse cause they’re the only shoes that don’t hurt the massive blister on the back of my foot but it’s actually been quite good. Managed 3x8 40kg squats, worked up to 37.5kg hip thrusts and 100kg leg press (but only for 3 reps) 🏋🏻‍♀️ next goal is 60kg squats cause that’s basically how much I weigh 😂#gfgchallenge #gfg #workout #fitness #booty #converse #gymshoes #personalbest #squats #gains #girlswholift #girlgains #strongnotskinny #gettingthere
