Top down ombre sweater is finally making progress. I started it way back for the #fringeandfriendsknitalong of top down sweaters.... Like what.... A year ago? Decided it was time to reclaim the needles and since I didn't have any current work knitting, it's been getting the love. Alternating between the sleeves and the body to use up all the yarn possible. Knit in @anzulaluxuryfibers Cloud held double. #OmbreCloudSweater

COLOR US EXCITED. @karentempler announced yesterday that the next Fringe and Friends Knitalong, which starts on January 1, will have log cabin knitting as its theme. This will be an incredible and open-ended exploration of our favorite knitting technique. What should we make? A blanket is a classic choice, and there are so many others. Kay is planning a log cabin box-top in our new post #todayonmdk. Stir the stash and join us in getting ready for some fun post-holiday knitting! #logcabinknitting #logalong #fringeandfriendsknitalong #fringeandfriendsKAL2018 #fringeandfriendslogalong

nearly 3 years late to the #fringeandfriendsknitalong amanda cardigan game, but i am finally starting this babe of a sweater in @cestarisheep mount vernon collection. I'll be knitting it in the babies breath colourway, swatches shown in the wheat colourway. #fringeassociation #cestariyarns

Grey day = rotten light quality = poor colour in pictures ... Swatching and watching P&P. I know I should bind off and cut it and wash it and block it but I don't have enough. I think the Wool Folk / Organika is going to give me a whole nother animal and I'm not sure that's the kind I want to wear. I liked the structure of Sloper and I think this will be too soft. But the only other I have in bulk is a natural cotton and my is it stiff comme ça. Dilemmas, dilemmas. Suggestions my friends?

So much to say about my self-designed sweater. It's been through many iterations but the great thing about this moment is that it's DONE. (And I love the collar so much!). Thanks to @karentempler for motivating this project. I can confidently say I never would have not followed a pattern, but I'm thrilled with the experience! #fringeandfriendskal2016 #fringeandfriendsknitalong #knitstagram #knitting

This is my first original sweater design! Inspired by @fringesupplyco's Top Down Knitalong. I'm in awe of what a pile of wool found in a friend's basement can become. #knitallthethings #fringeandfriendsknitalong #topdownknitting #finishedobject

IN LOVE. This is hands down the best sweater I have ever make. It started as an oversized, badly-proportioned attempt at the Cowichan-inspired sweater from the #fringeandfriendsknitalong two years ago. I had felted it down in a desperate attempt to make it work, and it sat in our closet because it just couldn't be salvaged. That was until I got my claws in it this Christmas and reknit using two of the motifs as jumping off points but making up the pattern as I went. My fingers are raw from ripping apart felted yarn and it is SO WORTH IT! I can't wait for it to dry so I can wear it forever. @karentempler there's always a way to reuse yarn from a project that just didn't work. Thank you for your continued inspiration, and I'd like to submit this sweater, very belatedly, to the cowichan KAL. #knit #knitting #felt #knittersofinstagram #sweater #handmade #love #warm #cosy #wool #briggsandlittleheritagewool

Finally finished my sweater for the KAL, there was significant negative knitting but I am very happy with the result and feeling more confident about improvising in the future.#fringeandfriendsknitalong

This is probably going to be a little big on me now as I've lost 50 lbs since last March. We'll see...

Finally breaching the sleeves after a well-fought battle with the yoke & collar on my #fringeandfriendskal2016 sweater. Strangely, the design is slowly revealing a "Princess Leia on Hoth" vibe, but with a touch of neutral tones, of course... #fringeandfriendsknitalong #knittersofinstagram #knitstagram #handknit

Den 7. September begyndte jeg på min første sweater - en simpel top down raglan sweater i merino-alpaka #isagergarn. Har strikket nonstop lige siden #fringeandfriendsknitalong

It is coming together on the #fringeandfriendskal2016 ! Finally collar & pockets done (good lord that collar took forever). On to the sleeves--I saved the most difficult for last. Not my smartest move! #fringeandfriendsknitalong #fringeandfriends #fringeassociation #knittersofinstagram #knitstagram #handknits

Small things. "Grow & develop your smalls today" I am telling myself.
It's crazy how little things can give such HUGE joy! These little sprouts have made me so absurdly happy watching them grow! 🍅 and 🌿 seedlings. I've also got spinach, cilantro sprouted. Plans for cabbages, beets, sugarcane, lettuces and more. Homesteading can happen in tropical islands. We see it so beautifully portrayed in woodsy picturesque places that have incredible and marked seasons. We see great encouragement in secluded cabins and cottages with the best farmyards I could ever dream of!
That's not where I've been planted, and if I could be so bold, most of us haven't. But we can plant, bloom & harvest where we are ❤️ Our soil is pretty much a rock quarry and the landscape is a steep incline (aloha mountain range!) but I'm excited about the plan developed for my here and now. And I can't wait to share what grows!
That swatch right there has grown in to so much more too! It makes me so happy to swatch and re-swatch and re-re-swatch for my @fringesupplyco @karentempler #fringeandfriendsknitalong I'm planning out the difference between my linen and wool results & hoping to gather a bit more insight in to what I want to create.
