6 MONTHS POSTPARTUM 👶🏼👶🏼Postpartum Fitness has been a little harder the second time round I'm not going to lie 😬😬 I have mum guilt every time I have "me time". Set 3 for this most improved athlete. Ashley started lifting in 2010 she had not been training or paying attention to her overall health and nutrition. 2018 #8years later she had the body she hoped for. Ashley was about 36% BF /58” around in the hips and was B-EAUTUFUL!!! Of course she wanted more out of her physique!!!!! She had some long term goals and they are still being updated each year. #improvement is a process!!! #19weeksPregnantWorkout : GLUTES & HAMSTRINGS 💜

I have had a great training week, managing to get in all my planned sessions and felt STRONG in each one 💪🏼
.
The only thing I have started to feel more mindful of from this week is that I feel less stable in my pelvic region. Remember that from the #2ndTrimester, your body starts to release a hormone called #Relaxin to loosen your joints and ligaments- specifically in your pelvis in preparation for birth. However, it will create laxity in all joints and ligaments of your body. It is therefore extremely important to be mindful of any movements that put your joints and ligaments under strain, as this type of injury can cause immense discomfort during pregnancy and take months to rehab post pregnancy #PreventionAlwaysBetterThanACure

Before this next routine I do 10-20 min interval walking to warm up. It is extremely important to warm up for at least 5 minutes when training through pregnancy, as most of your blood flow is going to the uterus and your baby and you want to gradually circulate that blood to your muscles, while raising your heart rate in a controlled manner ❤️🌸
.
This routine is based on a #DropSet principal- where you will start with a hard/heavy exercise (for minimal reps), follow onto a medium weighted/strength exercise (for medium reps) and finish off with a light weighted exercise (for high reps) ... all in one set- for ONE muscle group! 😁
.
Training this way is an extremely effective method to maintain toned muscle, while burning fat! ... you will be able to finish off one muscle group within 20 min! That means ... if you had only planned for one muscle group- you could literally be out of the gym in around 40 min with added cardio and 10 minutes of stretches at the end! 🙌🏼

PLEASE NOTE: this is a training routine I have been doing for years prior to 🤰- it is NOT a routine I would recommend to pregnant women who are new to or haven't ever done weight training 🌸

Never miss a Monday! 💕

You might think I'm lying... but for real... I always HATED working out.
Becoming a mom to this beautiful little girl made me rethink a lot of things.

I thought about the kind of example I wanted to set for her.

I want her to be happy and healthy... always.

And I know it starts with me. She copies my every move. She looks up to me. I'm all she knows.

I need to lead by example. I need to treat myself the way I want her to treat herself.
It's not easy... but I can do hard things. And I can do anything for my daughter.
Having support from my coaches and challengers helps me tremendously when it comes to staying on track.

I have 5 spots left in my new accountability group. Deadline to join is August 20th.

It’s simple and healthy. 🥑🍗🥗 Not gonna lie, eating is hard these days, but I put it down. Some days just nothing sounds good, but I know mamas gotta eat and nourish this Bebe. 🤰🏻🙏🏼🍃 It easy to eat the same things and have them prepared so I don’t sit and stare into the fridge and pantry endlessly, lol! 😄😜
