EAT YOUR WATER

Did you know that #water is the main component of the body? In fact, the adult body is about 60-70% water! Our bodies use water in all of its cells, organs and tissues to help regulate body temperature, to transport oxygen, and glucose to our working muscles, it helps our bodies eliminate waste and toxins, as well as aiding in a slew of other bodily functions that are vital for optimal living. Plain and simply: we need water to survive. Since we lose water through breathing, sweating and digestion, it's extremely important to consume enough water to hydrate and replenish in order to ensure proper body function.

Drinking enough water is a MUST (if you’re wondering how much water should you be drinking everyday, a good rule of thumb that I follow is this: at least half of your body weight in ounces) BUT- in addition to drinking water, you can also incorporate #plantbased foods high in water too! Fruits and vegetables provide vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein along with fluids!! Here are 6 of my favorite #vegan foods that can help keep you hydrated.

Please note that eating these foods does NOT replace drinking water. Incorporating these foods is a way to mindfully ADD to drinking water.

BRIDGES EXERCISE🍑💦 Lie flat on the floor on your back with the hands by your side and your knees bent.
Your feet should be placed around shoulder width. This will be your starting position.

Pushing mainly with your heels, lift your hips off the floor while keeping your back straight.
Breathe out as you perform this part of the motion and hold at the top for a second.

Slowly go back to the starting position as you breathe in.

FIRE HYDRANT EXERCISE 🍑

1. Position yourself on all fours with shoulders wide apart and palms flat.

2. Keep your knees, hip wide apart and bend them at a 90-degrees angle.

3. Keep your back straight, raise your right thigh and bring it close to your chest as much as you can.

4. Then raise the same thigh out to the side by keeping the hips still.

5. Now, kick your raised leg slowly in the backward position.

6. Now perform these steps with your left leg.

STANDARD NO WEIGHT SQUAT‼️🍑 Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. You can place your hands behind your head.

Begin the movement by flexing your knees and hips, sitting back with your hips.

Continue down to full depth if you are able and quickly reverse the motion until you return to the starting position.
