Watch out Ferrari; Tesla has unveiled what Elon Musk says is the fastest production car ever made!  The new Roadster can go from 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds and a staggering 0 to 100 in 4.2 seconds. Those times put the Model S's Ludicrous mode to shame.  The Roadster's 200 kWh battery keeps you flying down the highway for 630 miles before you have to recharge.  The base model with a top speed of 250 mph will be available in 2020 starting at 200,000 thousand dollars. ⚡️

Behold, our wondrous blue planet. This picture, taken from the International Space Station, show’s the Earth’s atmosphere in all of its glory. This layer of gas surrounds our planet and is retained by the Earth’s gravity. Although the moon appears to be right outside our atmosphere, it is actually 238,900 miles away from us. Most humans will never get the chance to see this view for themselves, but at least we get to enjoy this stellar photography.

A modern-day sundial sounds like the ultimate hipster accessory, but we have to admit, this 3D-printed sundial is actually pretty amazing. As the day progresses and the sun moves across the sky, the sundial displays the time as digital numbers that actually change. Using a complex pattern of holes that create specific shadows, Mojoptix’s Digital Sundial updates the time in 20-minute increments. Unfortunately, the sundial can only display the time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. But still, that’s pretty impressive.

Via @cars__insider: Each year Business Insider selects 15 finalists to take part in its Car of the Year competition. These are the vehicles, from sedans to supercars to SUVs, that impressed us most. They're the best of the best and were selected after a year of test-driving and reviewing dozens of cars, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and sports cars. To be eligible, all models must be new or have been substantially updated within the past year. As a result, we've been blessed with a bountiful selection of cars spanning a broad spectrum of the market. In addition, all models must have been road tested by at least two members of the Business Insider team to qualify. (Because of a lack of available press demonstrators, three significant cars — the Bugatti Chiron, Ford GT, and Tesla Model 3 — were deemed ineligible.) Check back each day this week as we announce our five runners-up leading up to the big reveal November 14. 🖌: @bi_graphics
