Holiday Breakfast with Mom’s old work friend. Enjoyed my first taste of Latkes!
This breakfast sort of looks like vomit 😷 hahahaha BUT it's actually DELICIOUS (on my story yesterday + highlighted it!) Anyway: I want to talk for a second about tracking macros. I don't know how many of you know the deets of counting macros or the point.. so I'm going to elaborate, since I feel like I post about them a lot.
Macronutrients are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. About this time last year, I had just lost about 20 lbs after a small weight gain. I worked out 6 days a week (like it was my religion), cut out carbs to only 50g a day, cut my calories to about 1300 a day, and only did lightweight/HIIT workouts & extensive cardio sessions. I would cut out meals often. Eating egg yolks was a "treat." I would give myself one cheat meal a week, where I would usually binge eat an entire pizza & dessert or an unreasonable amount of pasta, etc. It was certainly disorderly and although I got pretty thin, the progress plateaued quickly. It was simply an unsustainable state. My body also began to store fat again and I lost a lot of muscle tone. I did this up until about mid-July.
Then I started reading different online forums and talking to fitness girls on insta, realizing that food really was fuel and I was actually destroying my metabolism and my physical appearance. So, I started experimenting: reducing cardio slowly, and slowly adding carbs & protein to my diet (reverse dieting) until I got to where IIFYM said I should be eating to reach my goals. (237C, 60F, 166P for me). Slowly adding more food will minimize fat storage and ease your metabolism into a higher food intake. I was TERRIFIED I was going to pack on the pounds. However, my metabolism sped up insanely fast. It felt like my body was jumping for joy that I was finally giving it what it needed. I slimmed down in the areas I wanted to, and I started actually seeing muscle growth in the areas I wanted to. Eating for your body is such an amazing connection.
I highly recommend if you aren't seeing the results you want, calculate your current macro intake & calculate what you need & increase them. Take the plunge. It is so so worth it, for your fitness and your life.

The gluten free wraps I bought were all broken when I got home😂😂 but this was delicious I can make anything work when it comes to food in mah belly!
Pulled bbq jackfruit and slaw soaked in mayo of course. Yah at home my food's always messy👌

Me and some of my food today: Upped my weights and got a crazy good workout in today!!💪💪 Breakfast was my blueberry raspberry Quinoatmeal and asparagus and tomato slices Supper was whole grain spaghetti with ground turkey tomato sauce and peppers and mushrooms. Shakeology was vanilla with a mix of fruit and was so thick I could barely drink it....just the way I like it!!😃😃
